Today I received an email from an unknown person informing me that one of my recent prize winners had sold their prize on eBay. They provided me with the link and low and behold there was the prize in question. Upon looking into their feedback and recent transactions I noted a few items in their recent sales that were probably other competition prizes.
I know I have no control over what someone does with a prize once they receive it but I’m just so appointed. If they did not want or were going to use the prize then why enter? I know it was only a small prize but it is the principle of it.
I, myself enter competitions, however I enter to win prizes for my children or my family. These prizes allow me to give extra treats or put away for birthdays/Christmas etc.
I am now wondering if my hard work in arranging giveaways is wasted…
Am I wrong in thinking people enter competitions because they want the prize?
Would you care if a winner sold one of your prizes?
