Blogging 101 | Five of the Best Note-Taking Apps to Improve your Productivity

May 4, 2021

Up until a few decades ago, note-taking used to be so much simpler – just a pen, a piece of paper and that’s it. Today, you need cloud syncing, attachments, checkboxes and so much more. And you need it on your phone!

Thankfully, there are some great note-taking apps out there to help you do just that. Read on to discover the 5 of the best note-taking apps that help keep your productivity and organisational levels up!

Evernote

Evernote is undoubtedly one of the top choices when it comes to comparing note-taking apps. It is super simple and easy to use, especially if you are someone who has trouble staying organized with your tasks. It helps you take notes in a variety of formats, and has the best interface seen in any organizational or note-taking app ever. You can create checklists, upload voice notes and store links to external files as well.

What’s more, Evernote automatically syncs all your data across all platforms. And yes, it has that built-in scanner as well. So whether you are accessing it from your computer or even another phone, everything will be there!

OneNote

OneNote is a free cross-platform note taking app by Microsoft. You can access it from all devices, and it is super simple and easy to use. And yes, you can use it to ‘draw’ notes onto it as well. What’s best is that you don’t actually need to pay anything for any premium version of the app- it is completely free- for unlimited devices.

Google Keep

Google Keep is a built-in note for Android devices and is great for taking textual notes in particular. If you’re on the go, you can also speak a voice memo into it, and the app will automatically transcribe it into the note. The notes here appear as sticky notes and have a different colour for you to easily identify and categorise them. And yes, if you’re an iOS user, you can download it too.

Saferoom

If you’re extra cautious about the notes that you take and would prefer an additional layer of security over the cloud-based notes that you currently take, consider Saferoom. It is undoubtedly one of the best secure note-taking apps available out there, and what’s best is that it doesn’t have any note-taking capabilities on its own. This means you can use it with Evernote, OneNote or any other note-taking app you like!

Apple Notes

And of course, here’s something for all the Apple users out there. Apple Notes might just be another built-in app, but when you’ve got it, you honestly do not need to download any other app. Whether you’re taking notes of long-form content, or just need to put down a simple to-do list, this little app can help you do it all. And yes, with the in-built camera, you can take notes on photos as well. Plus, you can add attachments like maps and links to existing notes as well- how cool is that?
