In the My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure video game Sunny wants to bring magic back to Equestria by hosting the forgotten Maretime Bay Day festival – but some ponies are out to spoil her plans!
As a child of the 80s, I can recall playing with My Little Pony throughout my childhood. Still pining over the My Little Pony Nursery that I received one year for Christmas. How I loved taking care of the baby MLPs within the playset and getting my other ponies to come over and help out.
Thankfully, Roo had her turn at loving all things My Little Pony, however, I think Piglet is an even bigger fan of them than I was. She loves to pull them out and set them up in her bedroom or in the lounge. Watching the episodes on Netflix and the recent new My Little Pony movie has been watched many, many times. So when I found out that there was going to be a My Little Pony video game I just knew that she would be ecstatic – cue a very happy dance when she had seen that I had downloaded it on the Nintendo Switch.

It’s time to celebrate as preparations are in full swing for Equestria’s Maretime Bay Day Festival. However, one pony is out to spoil the party! Join the adventurous Sunny, kind Hitch, creative Izzy, courageous Zipp and confident Pipp as they attempt to save the day and put on the best festival ever!
Play as Sunny and use her magic powers to complete tasks and challenges with special unlockable pony skills to fly, jump and skate around the fantastical world of Equestria. Customise Sunny along the way with new clothing and accessories to make sure she looks her best for Maretime Bay’s big day!

Our thoughts on My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure
It’s a toss-up as to who was more excited to play the new video game, with Piglet getting the first hands-on action, whilst I helpfully sat next to her to help with the reading sections. The game is really fun and interactive, with a number of different ways children (and adults) can play. Whether you wish to explore Maretime Bay and speak to the different characters along the way. Or if you fancy your chances at one of the minigames, the dance one has to be Piglet’s favourite.
Overall, it is a fun game for anyone who likes My Little Pony, I don’t think you need to be a huge fan of the toys, series or films as it is interactive enough to engage school-age children. Some preschoolers may also enjoy the minigames to get them started with using a controller etc. Plus I think they will love exploring the Maretime Bay area.
