Sleep is so very important to me. If I don’t get enough of it and I’m not a very sociable person. Although having three children does mean that I’m often thinking about when I can next grab some much-needed shut-eye. Jemma from Mayflower Blogs recently tagged me in The Bedtime Tag which asks me all about my bedtime routine. You know me any excuse to talk about my love of pyjamas and sleep…
The Bedtime Tag questions…
1. Describe your usual bedtime routine
I like to get my pyjamas on as early as possible (I’d live in them if I could). So if I can get away with it, they go on straight after the school run. Then once the children are in bed I try to spend a couple of hours on my blog. Heading downstairs to snuggle with Mr. Boo for an hour or two before heading up to bed.
2. What are your favourite pyjamas?
Not that this will come as a surprise to most of you but I do love pyjamas. My wardrobe is actually half full with pyjama sets. In fact, I would say that I own more pairs of pyjamas than I do everyday clothes. Picking my favourite pair would be difficult but I’d have to go with my Harry Potter pyjamas from Primark. However, I do have my eye on a couple of new pairs in the sales at the moment (just don’t tell Mr. Boo!)…
How cute are those Brussel sprouts one?
3. What is your current bedtime reading?
I really need to get back into the habit of reading. I used to be an avid reader, however, it has fallen by the wayside. I tend to sit and read through my Bloglovin feed during the evening when I have the time to make sure I have caught up with my favourite bloggers.
4. What would I find on your bedside table?
I don’t tend to keep much on my bedside table as it lifts up to convert into a vanity table and mirror. The essentials are there, though, Piglet’s baby monitor, my favourite wedding photo and of course, my glasses.
5. What scent makes you sleepy?
I don’t think I have a scent that makes me sleepy. If I had to say something it would be the warm smell that comes when the room is warm and toasty from the central heating.
6. What is your usual bedtime and wake-up time?
I love my sleep and always try to be in bed before midnight. I should really go to bed earlier than I do as Piglet is teething so can be up and down several times throughout the night. With three children I’m always up bright and early so anything after 7am is classed as a lay in.
7. What are your top three bedtime products?
I’m not much of a beauty queen so I’d have to say soap, water, and toothpaste. I’m afraid I’m not one for lotions and potions, and when I decide I’m going to bed I just want to get in there rather than messing around with moisturises etc.
8. What is your most common sleeping position?
I used to sleep on my stomach, however, three pregnancies have made me have to change my sleeping position. Nowadays I like to tuck the corner of the duvet in and sleep on my side, facing out of the bed.
9. Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?
Just Mr. Boo – I find it difficult to sleep in a bed on my own. After being together for almost 17 years I really miss him when he isn’t beside me so Roo fills in for him when he is away with work.
10. What is your worst bedtime habit?
I’m a terrible fidget. I even annoy myself some nights with my tossing and turning, rearranging the bed covers or trying to find the cold side of the pillow. I have no idea how Mr. Boo sleeps through it all, I’d end up kicking him if he fidgeted as much as I do.
