A baby sitting on a table

Stokke Tripp Trapp {Wheat Yellow}

July 6, 2016

Throughout my pregnancy with Piglet, there were certain things in my head that I wanted to do as a mum this time round. The five-year age gap between Tigger and Piglet had me feeling very much like a first-time mum again and I wanted to be as prepared as I was when I was expecting Roo.

It was really lovely being able to wander around the baby stores and look at all the different products on display. So much had changed in the last few years that I was amazed at some of the things that you can now buy for a baby. As I started to prepare for weaning I knew in my heart that there was only one highchair that I really wanted for Piglet – the Stokke Tripp Trapp. A highchair I had seen at the Baby Show when Tigger was around a year old and wished that I had purchased it for him, however, we already had a highchair.

Stokke Tripp Trapp

The Tripp Trapp® is an ingenious highchair that revolutionised the children’s chair category back in 1972 when it was first launched. It is designed to fit right up to your dining table, bringing your baby into the heart of your family, allowing him or her to learn and develop alongside you. The intelligent, adjustable design allows freedom of movement with both depth and height adjustable seat and footplates. When adjusted correctly, your child is ensured a comfortable and ergonomic seating position at any age.

This time round, however, Piglet has the Stokke Tripp Trapp in beautiful Wheat Yellow, one of the latest colours to be added to the Tripp Trapp family alongside soft pink and hazy grey.

The Stokke Tripp Trapp isn’t just a standard highchair that you use for possibly a year or two and then forget about until your next baby comes along. It is a highchair that evolves through your child’s lifetime and can be used right up they are adults if desired (maximum user weight is 85kg).

With both the seat and foot plate being able to be repositioned the highchair grows with baby through to toddler, pre-schooler and beyond.

You can opt to use the Tripp Trapp from birth if you purchase the Newborn Set, however, we are using it from the start of weaning with the Baby Set.

Stokke Tripp Trapp Baby Set

The Baby Set has a high back support and rail with an integrated crotch strap which lets your baby sit securely and comfortably at the table.

Piglet has always been quite strong with holding her head up and has a good core strength so popping her into the Tripp Trapp Baby Set really helps her build on these muscles whilst feeling the support from the wide rail and integrated crotch strap. The Baby Set can be used in conjunction with Stokke Harness to give you that added reassurance that they are secure within the Baby Set (plus are perfect if you can an escape artist on your hands).

It is easy to attach to the seat and back rails of the Tripp Trapp and can be removed at any time with a few clicks. The Baby Set is available in a variety of colours so it’s up to you whether you choose to match the colour of your Tripp Trapp or go for something contrasting.

Stokke Tripp Trapp Cushion

Personalise Tripp Trapp® by adding cushions in different colours and designs. The cushion is soft and comfortable for your child.

Whilst one of the big plus points of the Stokke Tripp Trapp for me was the ease of cleaning following each meal there is something about the bareness of the frame that longs for a cushion. The Tripp Trapp cushion is made for a perfect fit into the Baby Set and adds that extra piece of comfort for when little ones are sitting in the Tripp Trapp.

Plus the cushion selection is adorable, it’s quite hard to decide one which one to choose – I opted for the Sweet Butterflies Tripp Trapp cushion which compliments the Wheat Yellow Tripp Trapp with its mixture of wheat yellow, soft pink and hazy grey butterflies.

Stokke Table Top

Stokke® Table Top is a games room, a classroom and a canteen. Best of all, it lets your child share, connect and take their rightful place alongside the rest of the family.

With both Roo and Tigger, they only started to sit at the table with us once weaning was established and regret all the family dinner times that we missed out upon because of this. With the Tripp Trapp Piglet is able to sit right up at the table with us and be part of the family time. Whilst we looked at the Stokke Tray and felt it would be good for the early days of weaning it was the Stokke Table Top that caught our eye as it means that Piglet would be right up at the table with us all complete with her own table mat.

The Stokke Table Top comes with two double-sided fun playmats that fit underneath the clear table top tray, complete with four large suction cups to hold everything in place. The fun designs on the playmats mean that you are able to change things up each meal time or keep the same depending on what your little one prefers. The main tray is easy to wipe over and the large suction cups help keep the playmats in place as well as the tray on the table.

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…

As soon as the Stokke Tripp Trapp arrived I was like a child at Christmas – Opening up the boxes to see if the beautiful set that I’d put together onscreen lived up to the reality and oh yes it did. As I started to put together the Tripp Trapp I was in the middle of cooking the children’s tea as well as entertaining Piglet but I just couldn’t wait until Mr. Boo got home.

The Wheat Yellow colour is such a beautiful shade and is unisex so could happily be used for either a boy or a girl. Whilst I loved the idea of a contrasting colour for the Baby Set my OCD wouldn’t allow me to do so I opted for the wheat yellow to match the rest of the Tripp Trapp, with the Sweet Butterflies cushion adding that little contrast and pop of addition interest to the highchair.

As you can see Piglet looks quite happy sitting in her Tripp Trapp…

Roo and Tigger have now requested that they have Tripp Trapp chairs to sit on at the kitchen table, with Tigger requesting black with Roo opting for Storm Grey, so it looks like our kitchen could soon be very colourful and full of Tripp Trapp chairs.
