Dark Mafia, Returning to the NHS and pre-booking family adventures #LittleLoves

April 30, 2021

Just when I didn’t think that I could add any more to my plate, I started my new role within the NHS this month. Whilst keeping on my temporary contract at the supermarket plus the upkeep of my blogs, social media etc. The most important part is my little family unit – something I feel as though I’m failing at the moment. Changes to my work/life balance need to be made but I’ve yet to come to a decision on what they will be.

This months #LittleLoves…

Each month I share my #littleloves, a chance to reflect on the things that I have read, watched, heard and made. As well as highlighting what I’ve worn and any other highlights in my life. It’s not about the big things, it’s about all those small little loves that make up everyday life.

Read

I fell headfirst into a mafia filled rabbit hole this month. With a mixture of standalone dark mafia romances to complete book series’. the combination of romance and suspense draws me in and leaving me needing to know what happens next.

Watched

After having the last Top Gear series on our recordings list for what feels like forever. We were finally able to watch and delete them all this month. When it switched to new presenters, I wasn’t sure if it would hold the same appeal as it did with Clarkson. May and Hammond. However, I do think that Chris, Freddie and Paddy have got a fun banter between them and manage to find the balance between informative and entertaining.

Heard

Despite being second best for one of the NHS roles I applied for late last year. I was contacted at the end of February to ask whether I would still be interested as they had another position available. Finally this month everything has fallen into place and I heard that my start date had been confirmed. Nothing ever goes quickly or smoothly in the NHS, but I’m back in the office and trying my hand at a new dept.

Wore

With a new job role and one that will be based in the office for the time being. It was time to update my workwear wardrobe. Although I had some basics to work with I managed to grab a few tops/blouses in the TU clothing sale in Sainsbury’s. I could really do with a proper shopping trip into the city but I have been there since last March and not sure I can justify the trip just yet.

Made

Starting a new role albeit for my old NHS trust has had my anxiety levels on edge. Making myself step outside of my comfort zone, meeting new people and learning new procedures etc. Forcing myself to make the best of situations and grab the new challenge with both hands.

Lastly

The Easter holidays came and went before I knew it. Sadly no grand family adventures for us again but I’ve pre-booked some Merlin attractions for next month so fingers crossed for good weather and a bucket load of fun.
