The calm before the storm phrase – a that has been rolling around my head this week. With the lockdown restrictions starting on the first step of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown tomorrow.
Worrying about leaving lockdown
As we embark on opening the doors to the world again I am feeling anxious and apprehensive about it. Whilst there is still that worry about the virus and the potential to catch it or spread it. It is not the only thing that is on my mind at the moment. I don’t feel ready to deal with all the interactions and emotions that come with returning to life before lockdown. I am comfortable locked away and not dealing with the dramas and dynamics that make up family life.
Oh boy, I am utterly exhausted. Working long shifts at the supermarket, attempting to deal with tech issues on my site and juggling family life. The spinning of the various plates has taken its toll on me and caught up to me this week. I’d love to say that an early night and a lay-in would work wonders, but I don’t think that it would be enough. No quick fix or magic wand waving but I do know that I need to make changes to my work/life balance.
