Certificates, Summer Fun and Ditsy Flower Prints #LittleLoves

June 16, 2017

What a week of beautiful sunshine, my washing line has never been used so much (that makes me sound so old and boring). It’s been a busy week with meetings, events, and school activities – I don’t know if I’m coming or going at the moment, but I don’t think family life is ever boring or the same from week to week.

Both Roo and Tigger received certificates for their reading at school. As they have read at least four times a week for the past 40 weeks they also were able to select a book to keep. With Tigger selecting a Diary of the Wimpy Kid book after seeing the film over half term and loving it so much. Whilst Roo opted for the Dork Diaries – Drama Queen (so perfect for her). I’m so proud of them that they have kept up to date with their reading (and their maths too).

I don’t feel as though I have watched anything other than my daily dose of Love Island this week. Although I have been watching segments of James and The Giant Peach on Netflix with Tigger – usually 10-20 minutes at a time so it’s going to take us a while to watch it all.

Laughter, giggling and fun – With the warmer weather I’ve had most of the windows open at home. It’s so lovely to hear the sound of laughter, giggles, and fun from the gardens. Everyone making the most of the sunshine and having BBQ’s with family and friends. Splish, splashing from paddling pools and the bouncing from trampolines.

It’s Father’s Day this weekend so I have been busy planning a family BBQ. We are away for the day on Saturday so I’ve been making lists of food I need to buy from the supermarket today, what I need to buy first thing on Sunday and what meat I need to get out from the freezer to defrost.

The weather has been glorious here most of the week so a great excuse to get the summer dresses out for Piglet. I adore this snapshot I took of her playing in her room this week. She is wearing a ditsy flower print dress with matching knickers from Boots Mini Club (currently £5.00 in the sale – bargain).

I’m completely and utterly disorganised at the moment. I feel as though I’m chasing my tail and putting out fires rather than being proactive and having everything in place. It’s not something that sits easily with me which is making me even more disorganised. I need to kick myself up the bum and get back into the swing of things.

OH Boots Mini Club was my fave when MM was little. She is darling here. Love the Diary of Wimpy kid set getting those for B for birthday he is just into his chapter reading now. Happy weekend ahead in the sunshine. #littleloves

I bleddy love the Boots sales. Store stock is always limited, especially for toddler boys, but free click and collect is awesome. Most of the clothes I buy for my son are bought ahead in the sales.

Sounds like you’ve had a lovely summery week. Well done to the kids on their reading, that’s brilliant! Hope you have a lovely Father’s Day bbq today x

I know what you mean about throwing your windows open and hearing summer outside. It really has been such a lovely week now, and we have spent so much time in the garden. I know what you mean about the feeling of being disorganised, I hate it and always feel so out of control x

I used to love Boots clothes when mine were babies, so many lovely prints! I was so sad when they got to big for the range.
We need to watch James and The Giant Peach, it’s one of my favourite Roald Dahl books and I think my girls would love it.
    Have a great week xx
