Living in a large city is it easy to fall into the rut of eating at the same places. Knowing you have been there before and that the food is OK, it can be difficult to step outside your comfort zone and try somewhere new. This being said, what better way to try a new place than with friends or family, the more the merrier as you can all order something different so you can taste test more of the menu.

Giggling Squid, Norwich
Location
Located on Tombland in Norwich City Centre. The Giggling Squid restaurant is close to Norwich Cathedral and Norwich Playhouse. Within easy walking distance of the bars and nightclubs, it makes it a great place to start your night in the city with friends and family.
Atmosphere
From the outside, you could be mistaken for thinking that the interior was going to be classic and traditional. Upon walking into the Giggling Squid restaurant you are welcomed warmly and invited to take a seat at one of many tables available across two floors. With a light and spacious feel to the restaurant. You’ll find yourself gazing around the restaurant looking at all the different details including covering the unsightly air conditioning units with wooden covers so not to distract from the beauty of the interior.
Food
Serving a staggering selection of Thai dishes by master Thai chefs, the Giggling Squid is the place to visit when you are looking for flavour. With a Thai Tapas menu served at lunch time whilst an extensive menu is available in the evenings.
The food is prepared freshly within the restaurant and served so beautifully that you almost don’t want to destroy their presentation. Attending the Giggling Squid with family, we took the opportunity to each order something different from the menu. Enabling us to try a range of different meals that we might not have gotten around to ordering.
The food was flavoursome, well cooked and beautifully served. The portion sizes were more than ample with the dessert the final push to devour. With two of our party qualified chefs it is always a worry taking them to a new restaurant, however, they enjoyed it so much they have already started to plan when they are visiting to taste test the Thai Tapas lunch menu.
Menu Options
The Giggling Squid offers an array of different menus which you might at first think is over the top, however, each one has been designed with a different clientele in mind. From the Tapas menu available at lunch times, a takeaway menu for when you want to enjoy their delicious food at home or take around to see friends (available for collection or via Deliveroo). Alongside this, they have their evening menu and a brand new #gigglingkids menu for children.
#GigglingKids Children’s Menu
A brand new children’s menu has recently been launched at the Giggling Squid restaurant. A little tapas for little people style menu, with a selection of eight dishes for them to choose from. With a mix and match approach, selecting two dishes for £5.95 plus they are able to add-on prawn crackers for an additional £2.00.
Treat a friend to Tapas this June
Every Friday lunch in June receives a complimentary Thai Tapas Set for your friend /colleague when you order one. Super popular for a reason, each lunch Tapas Set (normally priced from £9.75) includes 4 dishes made up of Giggling Squid favourites.

Giggling Squid Summer Street Food Pop-Up
On Sunday 25th June, Giggling Squid will launch a new alfresco dining experience with their Thai pop-up BBQ. Exclusive to Norwich, the street food pop-up will be available in Tombland every other Sunday thereafter * until the end of summer.
A lunchtime offering between 12pm – 3pm and just £9.95 per person, customers can choose four BBQ grill items such as Moo Yang Lemongrass pork belly with Moo Ping sauce, Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce, Soya and Garlic Prawns with Ginger Tamarind sauce and Classical Thai BBQ Chicken with Tangy Dipping Sauce. In addition, the salad bar will offer refreshing and vibrant options such as Thai salsa; chopped and papaya salad alongside a selection of spicy dips including chilli vinegar, lime chilli dipping sauce, and A-jard.
