Starting again

Here we are, New Year’s Day – a day in which we are torn between thinking of the past and then thinking of future. Today is a day of starting again, wiping the slate clean and opening a new notebook and filling it with new tales, adventures and family life.

Looking back at 2014

Last year I attended a blogging conference in which one the speakers commented that you can not have general blog. You need to find your niche and stick with it as your readers do not what to jump from subject to subject – which will in turn stop them from returning to your site.

This is something that has played on my mind ever since and has had me question my love of my Boo Roo and Tigger Too site.

I’ve looked through old posts from when I began my blogging journey and found that I have lost my way. I started blogging to share life about a working mum attempting to raise children as normal as possible. Whilst I can’t change the past I can however influence the future and starting again seems the best way forward.

Starting again

Whilst Boo Roo and Tigger Too will still continue, Polka Dot Family will be were I turn to to talk about family life, the highs, lows and everything in between. I want this to be a place where we can remember school achievements, days out and time as a family.

Keep up to date with the Polka Dot Family

I hope that you will join us as we muddle through family life, making mistakes and sharing our triumphs.

I often worry that the Lilypad blog can be too generic and so I completely understand where you are coming from. I look forward to seeing your adventures here and reading more about your lovely family x

    Oh how exciting.
I do disagree though as I made a new blog with a niche and actually it’s still my original blog that jumps around that gets the traffic. Best of luck with your new home though 🙂

I feel like I lost my way a bit at the end of the year but the New Year has prompted me to spend some time thinking about what I want my blog to be about and I feel like I’m back and happy with the way things are going.

Good luck with your new blog x x

It’s frustrating when people tell you that about your niche, and needing to stick within it. Surely your blog is your blog and you should write what you want. And yet, here I am, putting draft posts to one side because they don’t fit with the blog. *sigh*

    I covet your polka dots.
