REVIEW: ASilentnight Plain Dye Bedding from The Bedding Company

In theory we spend a third of our lives in bed, although some manage to squeeze an extra hour or so more than others.  I love my bed, I feel as though I don’t see half as much of it as I would like but I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that way.  So when The Bedding Company contacted me to offer me some new bedding I of course said ‘yes please!‘.

Originally I had opted for a bedding set for my bed, sadly it was out of stock so had another look at their wide bedding range.  Whilst looking I came across Silentnight, a brand that I am familiar with for making beds but not for their bedding range.

Roo has bunk beds and Tigger loves to climb onto the bottom bunk, snuggle in and watch a film with Roo.  So when I spotted the range of plain dye bedding I thought it would be lovely to transform the bottom bunk into a little haven for Tigger.

I was sent a Silentnight Red Single Duvet Cover from the plain dye bedding range.  It was only upon opening and putting the duvet cover on for the first time that there is no pillowcase included in the pack.  Obviously thinking about it the clue is in the title ‘duvet cover’.  Plus as there is many different colours to chose from it allows you to mix and match duvet covers, pillowcases and sheets.

The colour is strong and true, and polycotton is light and irons easily.  Once the duvet is placed inside you are not able to see the white of the duvet coming through as you can with some ‘cheaper’ brands.  White poppers close the cover and are easy enough that Roo could easily pop them closed.  Great for enabling children to help with household chores.

Tigger was happy to see that the pink had been banished from the bottom bunk to be replaced with the vibrant red, a little slice of ‘boy’ in a girly room.

Priced at £13.00 it is slightly more than what you would expect to pay for some high street brands although with bedding you get what you pay for.  The Silentnight brand certainly lives up to its name providing good quality durable bedding.
