Disney’s Cinderella – Courage & Kind

April 8, 2015

Last week I took Roo and Tigger to see the new Disney’s Cinderella film with some friends of ours. Roo has long been a fan of the Disney Princess, however Tigger has recently began to pay attention to the story after completing a pre-school project on Cinderella.

Disney's Cinderella - Pumpkin carriage

After watching the film it was funny to listen to the different reactions to it, Tigger was full of all the details like the Fairy Godmother getting squished in the green house by the pumpkin, the greedy mouse Gus who liked to eat all the cheese and of course the fact that Cinderella lost her glass slipper. Roo on the other hand loved the romance of it all, from Cinderella falling in love with the Prince without knowing he was a Prince, how cute the Prince was (she is at that age where the leading man is generally cute!) and of course the beautiful dresses that Cinderella got to wear to the ball and her wedding.

Whilst I know that the story of Cinderella means a lot more than just the gorgeous dresses and handsome Prince, sometimes getting lost in the magic of a sparkling fairy godmother’s wands and glass slippers is what is needed. In many ways it was refreshing to listen to the ladies who had come to see the film (and sat behind us) gasp at how beautiful the gowns were. I sat and smiled to myself as I listened to them discuss what a wonderful shade of blue Cinderella‘s ball gown was, the sparkling glass slipper and the awww at seeing Cinderella in her wedding dress – I certainly felt much better knowing I wasn’t the only grown up in their longing for a dress like Cinderella’s, especially her wedding dress.

Courage & Kind

Courage & Kind combines the magic of Disney’s storytelling and much-loved characters with stylish, luxury children’s fashion at its very best. The brand’s values focus on being happy, being playful, being courageous and being kind. The clothing lines have been designed to be cherished and passed down through different generations of the family.

Roo was recently sent a Courage & Kind long-sleeved Disney Cinderella top. In keeping with the Courage & Kind philosophy of timeless clothing the top is a true classic. A simple cream long-sleeved top with flecks of silver running through it. The Cinderella image on the front is a simple and understated version of the classic Cinderella film wear Cinderella sees her ball gown for the first time. The image has the appearance of being hand drawn onto the top making it look unique rather than mass-produced.

The addition of a few small silver gems adds that little flash of glitz to the top without going over the top. Fastened at the back with a button hidden by a classic silver bow adding that luxurious feel to the top.

The Courage & Kind’s Cinderella collection is currently available in Harrods and will be available on www.disneystore.co.uk from the end of April.

Disney’s Cinderella toys, dress-up and accessories collection

Disney’s latest live-action film, Cinderella, inspired by the classic fairy tale, with the magic of the film being brought to life with Disney’s stunning array of new dolls, costumes, accessories and more.

There is a wonderful range of Disney Cinderella dress up and accessories available from Disney Store. An amazing  limited edition Cinderella costume, limited to just 3500 however it will set you back £160! There are a variety of accessories available including Cinderella’s glass slippers, jewellery set and wedding accessory set. My personal favourite is Cinderella’s wedding dress.

Disney Cinderella Wedding Accessories Set

Since Roo was about 4 years old she has had wedding dress fancy dress costume in her dress up box, it still comes out every now and again (although it is getting a little tight). Over the past four years we have witnessed her getting married many, many times with the addition of various tiara’s that have arrived in party bags. So when the Disney Cinderella wedding accessories set arrived at the weekend I just knew that she would be one happy little girl. If I’m completely honest I was a little reluctant to hand over the tiara from the set as I’ve taken a bit of a shine to it (I wonder if I can find a reason to borrow it…).

Inspired by Cinderella’s wedding day, this accessories set contains a pair of clip-on earrings, a ring and a tiara, all in ornate gold with flower and gemstone detail, and accompanied by a glittering veil.

Disney Cinderella doll collection

Just like the Disney classics there is a range of fabulous dolls to accompany the film. Bring the film to life at home with Cinderella in her blue ball gown, the fairy godmother, Lady Tremaine or Cinderella in her wedding dress.
