One of the things that draw us to the Butlins Bognor Regis resort is the range of accommodation. From room only, apartments (standard, gold and deluxe) and a choice of three hotels .
I have to admit that the choice of hotels is what immediately catches my eye when it comes to selecting accommodation. For me, when I go on holiday I like the idea of having a break from doing the cooking, cleaning etc. So you can see why the option of staying in one of the hotels’ appeals.
The Shoreline Hotel has been proudly welcoming guests to the Bognor Regis resort for 10 years. Earlier this year some of the hotel rooms were given a nautical themed makeover. Taking inspiration from the sea that you can see from a number of the rooms, Butlins has made the rooms feel as though you are stepping on board a ship.
The Columbus Quarters is one of the family rooms available within the Shoreline Hotel. The newly decorated rooms really do give that feeling that you are staying in a cabin onboard a ship. The beautiful teal blue tones make the room feel fresh and light, along with the large window with a partial sea view.
The Columbus Quarters accommodates a family for four or five (if a baby is still in a cot). With a large living area which doubles as the adult sleeping area too. The octopus sofa was a huge hit with the children and they asked why we didn’t have a funky sofa like this at home. A family bathroom with bath and shower overhead means that getting a family ready throughout your stay should be relatively easy.
A family bathroom with bath and shower overhead means that getting a family ready throughout your stay should be relatively easy. Opposite the bathroom is a large wardrobe and storage area which has been designed to look like lockers you’d find aboard a ship. With an iron, ironing board, safe and mini fridge included within the room to make life a little easier. A microwave is available on each floor opposite the lifts, perfect for heating baby’s bottles, food or sterilising.
The children have a separate sleeping area located just as you come into the room. This contains bunk beds, TV and wardrobe space. The area is large enough to accommodate a travel cot for a baby if required. The children’s area is able to be closed off by a cute pirate curtain, making sure that area is dark enough for them to get some much-needed rest following the day’s activities.
Throughout the room, there are little design touches that make the room perfect for families. From the giant octopus floor cushion, the ships bridge to navigate and colour changing lights.
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
Arriving at the Bognor Regis resort for a Just For Tots break, the children were excited to be staying in the Shoreline Hotel. The Columbus Quarters are the perfect size for a family, with everything you need if you have taken advantage of the hotel dining plan.
The room is fresh and funky and captures the imagination of children. From the bunk beds, activities and having their own TV in their room – they loved it. The towel creations left by housekeeping each day were a wonderful touch, with Roo attempting to recreate them (Butlins should run towel animal creation activity sessions).
Next time you book your Butlins holiday to Bognor Regis, consider the Shoreline Hotel for a family hotel that ticks all the boxes.
