I’m sure I’m not the only person who can’t hear the words Alvin and the Chipmunks without automatically hearing the theme tune in their head. They are something from my own childhood which feels strange to see my children sit down to watch the show on Nick Jr.
Following the success of the Nick Jr. series Studiocanal has decided to release Season One over a series of four DVD titles. Monday 13th June sees the release of the first DVD Summer of Sport to be released, consisting of 14 episodes. Three more volumes in Season One will follow over the coming months, including Back to School and Who Ghosts There and every episode in the series includes a brand new Chipmunks song.
Alvin And The Chipmunks: Summer Of Sport DVD
The Alvin and the Chipmunks series takes you on a roller coaster ride of music (hey it wouldn’t be Alvin and the Chipmunks without some catchy tunes), laughter and stories. Featuring Alvin, Simon and Theodore (We’re the Chipmunks, Alvin, Simon, Theodore.. do do, do do, do do) and not to forget the Chipettes – Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor. The series joins David Seville as he tries to raise six Chipmunks, with it usually ending in ALVINNN!!!

Over the half term holidays, we were able to get a sneak peek at the new Alvin And The Chipmunks: Summer Of Sport DVD. With a run time of two and a half hours it would take a die-hard Alvin and the Chipmunks fan to watch all 14 episodes in one sitting so Roo and Tigger took to watching two episodes before going to do something else, which I feel is a good way for them to get a healthy dose of the chipmunks.
Watching the episodes with the children brought back memories of watching the TV series as a child and soon found myself laughing away along with the children at all the chipmunk antics.
