Yazoo No Added Sugar

When Roo was little we were told that we needed to increase her milk consumption.  Like any parent can tell you, this is easier said that done.  Whilst she was happy to eat yoghurts to ensure some calcium in her diet she would refuse a glass of milk.

One of the things we tried was to give her hot chocolate with warm milk.  This was OK but not something that she wanted during the day.  A friend suggested that we tried giving her milkshakes.  Which worked and we managed to get the required amount of milk into her diet.

As she has got older she still loves to have a milkshake, however, with all the details in the media about sugar intake we have been worried that this might not be the best thing for her.  Thankfully, Yazoo understands this dilemma for parents and has released a Yazoo No Added Sugar range*

* Yazoo No Added Sugar contains 4.6g/100ml of sugar which is found naturally in milk.  No extra sugar or artificial sweeteners have been added by Yazoo.

Available in three flavours; banana, toffee, and strawberry.  The 200ml lunchbox sized bottles have been approved by schools.  They are rich in calcium and protein, low in fat and a great source of B2.

Yazoo No Added Sugar 200ml single serve bottles are priced at 50p each or £1.60 for a 4 pack.  Available from all leading supermarkets.

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…

Roo hasn’t been great at drinking her squash that we pop inside her lunchbox and have been worried about her getting dehydrated.  By adding one of the Yazoo No Added Sugar bottles in her lunch bag she has managed to drink it all each day.  Knowing that she is both getting her calcium intake as well as ensuring she is drinking throughout the day I am loving the new Yazoo No Added Sugar bottles.  They are a great size for a packed lunch, or for when we are on day trips out with the children.

Disclosure: We received a selection of Yazoo No Added Sugar FOC for the purpose of review

Oh these sound good! Mine enjoy milkshakes but they are only ever a rare treat so to be honest, I haven’t been concerned about the sugar content. If there is no added sugar apart from the natural sugars found in the milk, what are they flavoured with then? Genuine question!

I definitely need to check these out, mine love milkshake but I prefer them not to have so much sugar – these look like a great compromise
