Who you chose to meet and greet you…

December 16, 2014

Whenever I think of airports I instantly think of Love Actually and Hugh Grant’s speech (wouldn’t he make an amazing Prime Minister)…

Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends.

When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of love.

If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.

Earlier this year I ran a giveaway in collaboration with APH, where I ask the entrants to tell me who they would most like to meet and greet them at the airport. Whilst some answered family members, others opted for film and music stars, it got me thinking about who I’d like to meet and greet me from the airport. I suppose it depends on what the journey was, however I’d always be pleased to see Mr Boo and the kiddies, although I wouldn’t mind Joshua Jackson, Mr Darcy or Peter Kay meeting me at the gate.

APH Heathrow recently ran a competition to find out who APH customers would most like to meet and greet them at the airport. So please take a look at who you chose to meet and greet you…
