A store in a brick building

TGI Fridays, Norwich | It’s All About Mum

March 9, 2016

Celebrating Mother’s Day in my eyes is all about kisses and cuddles from my children. A day off from the all the usual chores especially cooking and of course cake, lots of cake.

This year I was lucky enough to be invited to TGI Fridays with my family to celebrate their ‘It’s All About Mum‘ campaign. They understand that us hard-working mums deserve the day off on Mother’s Day and to be treated to a fabulous family meal.

TGI Fridays, Norwich

A large brick building with a store on the corner of a street

Situated on the Norwich Riverside complex, TGI Fridays, Norwich, is in prime position for anyone looking for somewhere to enjoy a meal before they head to the cinema, bowling or just catching up with family or friends. A bustling restaurant filled with fun and great music. With a selection of tables, booths and private areas you are able to enjoy a meal together with your friends and family in comfort.

Parking

On-site parking is available in the Riverside complex car park, however, if you don’t feel comfortable parking in multi-story car parks there is additional parking available at Norwich train station.

Fun Packs

As we were handed our menus the children received a copy of the children’s menu to make their food selection as well as a Fridays fun pack. The fun packs contained within large envelope were filled with an array of activities for the children including colouring pencils, hat and activity book.

As well as a fun pack the children were asked whether they would like a balloon creation, with Tigger opting for a sword and Roo asking for a wand – I’m not sure what it is about balloons but kids just seem to love them.

Menu selection

Although we attended TGI Fridays on Mother’s Day there wasn’t a special menu to choose from, although the standard menu had more than enough different meal choices to choose from. TGI Fridays special flavour throughout the menu is Jack Daniels sauce included with many of the dishes, although if you are not a fan of Jack Daniels there are still other dish options or you can request for the sauce not to be added.

The children’s menu is broken down into smaller and larger appetites, with each offering an array of different options including hot dogs, chicken and burgers. With Tigger being is usual fussy self he was pleased to find that he could order a bowl of chips.

Service

The service within the restaurant was warm and friendly. We were given the option to choose a suitable table which was lovely as we had Piglet in her pram so we opted to sit at a table where she wouldn’t be in the way of other diners and the waiting staff. Our waiter, Jed, was friendly and was happy to interact with the children which was lovely that he made the effort, especially with their balloon creations.

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…

Although Mr Boo and I have attended TGI Fridays before on a date night it is the first time we have taken the children to the restaurant. Attending on Mother’s Day I was surprised to find that there was nothing special added for the visiting mums. The tables and menu were as they would be on any given day, although there was nothing wrong with this I just thought that they would have added something.

The children especially had a lovely time, the fun packs and balloon creations went down well and helped keep them occupied whilst we waited for our meals. The food arrived promptly and the plates were full, if not a little too full as we each couldn’t finish our main courses.

Overall, it was a lovely family meal, the restaurant was friendly, clean and we loved the atmosphere – we will be back again.

Disclosure: We received a family meal FOC for the purpose of review.
