Siblings {January 2015}

There are days when I look at my children count my blessings that when they are older and I am gone they will have each other. There are other days when I’m not sure if there is any love at all between them, fight after fight, argument after argument. On the whole I am very lucky in that they will play nicely with each other, help each other when they need it and offer cuddles when the other is upset (usually because I have told them off for something or another).

Joining in with Siblings for the first time I am keen to try to link up each month to share the moments when I manage to capture Roo and Tigger together.

The past month has been a hive of activity for us as a family with days out, activities and of course Christmas…

Roo and Tigger have enjoyed a trip to Build-A-Bear Workshop

Siblings January 2015 - Build-A-Bear Workshop

With a to-do as long as my arm I decided to blow it off in favour of taking the children to one of the Kid’s Club film showings at our local cinema. After seeing The Book of Life we opted to walk home along the seafront, it was a little brisk but it was lovely to watch Roo holding Tigger’s hand so he wouldn’t blow away.

After completing our advent calendars and singing all the sleeps to Santa, Christmas Day finally arrived in the Polka Dot Family house. With present opening getting a little much for Tigger, Roo kindly tried to console him with a hug as they opened up their joint present Disney Infinity…

Siblings January 2015 - Christmas Day

Back to school didn’t go quite to plan with Roo’s school shut for an extra day due to a faulty boiler. Thankfully with Tigger only in pre-school for a half day on a Tuesday we opted to spend the afternoon in our local SEA LIFE Centre, looking at the fish, grabbing some lunch and burning off some energy in the play area. Just before we left I managed to get this snap of them both, which I really love…

Aw you’ve captured some lovely pictures of your little ones. Love the spider-man build a bear. Looks like the little ones have had some great times together over the holidays.

  17. January 12, 2015 / 1:40 pm

Lovely photos. I have two boys, so they obviously both have a sibling to play with.
Getting any pictures of them together is no mean feat as they have a very annoying habit of gurning and acting up for the cameras instead of posing nicely! 🙂

  18. January 12, 2015 / 8:53 pm

It sounds like you had a great time and its so nice to see your kids caring for each other.

  19. January 13, 2015 / 1:31 pm

The bravery of taking kids into build a bear, done it once with my younger sisters and never again…

  20. January 13, 2015 / 6:24 pm

Sounds like you’ve had a great and busy month. Nice to just hang out sometimes having fun and blow off the todo list. I love all these captures #siblings

  23. January 15, 2015 / 2:01 pm

Great photos – I love them both in their woolly hats!

  24. January 15, 2015 / 5:08 pm

Lovely photos, all so happy and smiley. Nice to capture these moments, that seem ordinary, but are quite special when you look back x

  25. January 15, 2015 / 8:02 pm

Such beautiful photos- I especially like the one from the walk along the beach. Life can be so difficult when you can’t get them to see eye-to-eye but definitely having a sibling and the overriding love- it really does make it worthwhile.
(And you will have to explain Disney Infinity to me at some point!).

  26. January 15, 2015 / 10:31 pm

They’re all gorgeous photos but I love that last one especially – it sounds like you had a really great Christmas break – even extended by a day 🙂

  27. January 16, 2015 / 9:46 am

Oh why was he crying? That is just too cute if it was cos he got everything he wanted. Bless his cotton socks!!!

  28. January 16, 2015 / 2:27 pm

Awww, these are all such lovely photos, and they kind of tell the story of their relationship together in different situations. Just lovely.
Welcome to the fun of Siblings, I think you’ll find it gets quite addictive. x
