Night time wake ups with #MamiaNightFeeds

December 11, 2016

A combination of teething and her one-year injections has left Piglet rather unsettled. My usual sleep through the night baby has been replaced with one that thinks that sleep is for the weak. She is unsettled, unsure of what to do with herself and/or is looking for snuggles with Mummy.

Whilst getting up through the night is not one of the parenting delights I look forward to. There is some comfort in knowing that I’m what my baby girls need at the moment. Being baby number three I have over the years tried many of the tricks to get little ones back to sleep, some more successful than others.

Aldi Mamia understands the challenge of getting up with little ones through the night. No matter what age your little one is completing the night feed, baby-changing and child-consoling can make the night shift feel very long. Thankfully Aldi has come to my rescue with a #MamiaNightFeeds hamper, full of essentials and ideas on how to get through the long nights spent on the sofa.

Nappy Change – Check that baby has a clean, dry bottom. Nobody likes to be sitting with a wet bottom so popping on a fresh dry nappy might just do the trick

Bath Time – Might sound a little silly to have a bath at 2am, however, if they are dirty, feeling under the weather or it’s just their favourite activity. A bath may help soothe them enough to drift off once they are out and in fresh pyjamas.

Feed Time – Depending on the age of your little one, you might find that they are hungry so a bottle or being breastfed might just top them up until morning. For others, they might require something a little more substantial so try a bowl of porridge or even a pouch to fill them up enough to aid sleep.

Activity Time – Sometimes no matter how much keeping the lights low and using hushed voices, they just want to play. Grab a book, the stacking cups or their favourite teddy bear and settle down for a play on the carpet. Burn off some of that excess energy that they seem to have gained.

Time For Snuggles – Sometimes all they need is a cuddle or two, grab their baby blanket and settle yourself on the sofa with some cushions and enjoy the snuggles whilst they last.

Disclosure: We received a #MamiaNightFeeds hamper FOC for the purpose of review
