Looking forward to summer

Whilst this year we have enjoyed a fairly mild winter, especially when you compare it to last year’s snow.  We have still all had the need to wrap up warm and add on the layers.  Personally I am a winter person, I joke with friends this is because I am originally from Cumbria and it generally winter all year round.  In fact I’m usually not too keen on the sunshine as it means that I have less layers to hide my body behind and less opportunity to hide away indoors away from the weather.

This year however is different, this year I am embarking on a change of lifestyle and for the first time in many, many years I am looking forward to summer.  I am looking forward to popping on the shorts and t-shirts, a pair of sandals and heading off with Roo and Tigger on a sunshine filled adventure.

With the help of some epic online friends who keep me motivated I am on my journey to losing quite a few pounds.  So this year I will be in need of a whole new summer wardrobe, although with a number of those said pounds still to go I am looking to grab some key essentials that will tide me over the warmer weather and make my summer much more enjoyable.  Hopefully by next year I will down to my target size and I will be ready to check out the bikini ranges at Joules.com.

I’ve started to make a little list of things I want to get for summer…

I usually hide under linen trousers but like you I’m also trying to lose some weight and am loving those shorts.

I’m usually the same. I’d much rather wear winter clothes as I hate wearing short sleeves.

  4. Thank you thank you! Those shorts are exactly what I’ve been looking for, I can’t do really short shorts and I don’t like heavy denims, these are going on my holiday list!

I’m desperate for some sun!!! We’ve not been abroad for 9 years and the weather is SO variable in the UK. Got two good beach days in last year but it’s not enough lol!! I like the plain white and blue, you can easily dress them up for later in the day. Just need some weather to wear them!!!

My most worn item in the summer is a maxi dress I buy one or two a year and now have about right different ones to choose from. You can dress them up or down and they are so comfy as well as flattering! I haven’t worn shorts since having children!

Very cute outfit. I would just add a cardi, especially if you’re wearing this outfit in the UK. 🙂

I never thought about adding a cardy, very much needed as the sun disappears as quickly as it came

I’m only 5′ 4″ so I’m always worried about whether a maxi dress would suit me or not but they do look light and cool to wear

Congrats on the weight loss – it’s always great when you can feel confident in a nice pair of shorts! Love those shoes. The white t-shirt would look great livened up with a big sparkly necklace and some pretty bangles.

I am always envious of people who can wear shorts. I’ve never felt they looked good on me at all – I have terrible knees!

It’s been ages since i even considered wearing shorts…long gone the days when it was worth it to show off my legs. Now in summer i wear thin long trousers or long skirts.

Thank you so much for joining in with the #BSParty

I live in sundresses if the weather allows.
