Life In Lockdown… Can someone please send a thunderstorm or two over to Norwich? I’m sweltering in the heat, as a northerner, I really don’t fair well when it is hot. As lovely as it is to see the sunshine, I could really do with a dose of rain right about now.

Life In Lockdown {Week 22}

Divide and conquer

Time spent together as a family is precious. Something that we don’t take for granted, especially around working patterns and (usually) school commitments. With life after lockdown starting to open up we have been attempting to plan once family adventure each week.

This week, however, our family adventure was divided into two. With What The Dad Said taking Roo and Tigger to Thorpe Park utilising our Merlin Annual Passes. Whilst I headed to the coast with Piglet for a walk around The Waterways and to feel the sand between our toes on the beach.

Although it would have been lovely to all be together, it would have been unfair on Piglet as there are only a handful of rides she is able to go on. Not to worry next week’s family adventure is Alton Towers so fun for all the family.

Who needs sleep anyway?

It’s been a few weeks since I moaned about my sleeping habits. A combination of it simply being too hot to get comfortable and sleep. Added to a dollop of anxiety woes has left me laying in bed wondering whether I actually need to sleep in order to function. With Piglet continuing to wake early means that I’m only getting around three or four hours of broken sleep at best. At least it gives me more time to enjoy a chapter or two of a book on my Kindle Paperwhite.

Job hunting

As the lockdown began and my contracts were put on hold or withdrawn I half-heartily joked about the prospect of finding employment in order to help us ease the financial burden of a reduced income. That time has come and this week I have started the process of applying for various job roles. I’m not particularly fussing in what role I do as long as I can gain a steady income. Fingers crossed for a dose of good luck and karma – as I’m feeling very nervous about the prospect of being out of the workplace too long.
