The summer is here finally which means it’s time for fun, days out and spending time as a family.
The summer sun whilst is warm, refreshing and providing us with vital Vitamin D can be draining, making sure that we are hydrated throughout the day will really help you enjoy the summer fun.
Signs of dehydration
- Little or no urine, or urine that is darker than usual – it should be pale yellow
- Dry mouth
- Sleepiness or fatigue
- Headache
- Confusion
- Feeling dizzy or light-headed
Your body loses water throughout the day, from going to the bathroom, exercise, and breathing, During the summer we lose more water throughout the day as our body sweats which means it is important that we keep hydrated throughout the day to avoid becoming dehydrated,
Tips for staying hydrated
- Carry a bottle of water with you so that it’s always available
- Drink a glass of water when you eat a meal
- Start and end your day with a glass of water
- Eating fruit and vegetables as they contain lots of water – aim for at least five portions a day
- If you feel hungry drink a glass of water to check it is in fact hunger and not the sensation of thirst masked by hunger.
- Drink a glass of water before you exercise, as well as during and after
Water obviously is the best possible way to keep you hydrated, but lets face it water can be a little bland. So why not enhancer your water with Vimto Squeezy…
