Dirt Candy

Dirt Candy is a restaurant on the Lower East Side, dedicated to proving that veggies can be the best part of any meal. Dinner at Dirt Candy consists of two separate tasting menus, each offering a selection of delicious veggie dishes for your table to enjoy.

The specific dishes vary depending on the season and the chef’ mood. But, previous favourites include carrot sliders, grilled and smoked broccoli dogs and kale matzoh ball soup. Don’t forget to try dessert. Why not try an onion chocolate tart or candied carrot chips? YUM!

The Black Ant

If you’re looking for a meal that’s a bit on the adventurous side, head to The Black Ant. There, you’ll feast on delicious Mexican cuisine with a twist.

Many of the dishes at The Black Ant feature bugs as an ingredient. Whether it’s the grasshopper crusted shrimp or black and guacamole, you may be surprised by how much you enjoy your food, once you give it a try.

Lavo

Lavo is an excellent Italian restaurant any day of the week. On Sunday, however, the mood becomes a lot more exciting. That’s because Sundays at Lavo are Riviera Sundays, nights of non-stop fun and food with a nightclub atmosphere… complete with a live DJ.

Inspired by the party’s hosted in the Italian Riviera during the 1950s, these Sundays feature live entertainment including dancers, stilt walkers, jugglers and musicians to keep guests entertained while enjoying the chef’s excellent signature dishes.

Jacob’s Pickles

Jacob’s Pickles is the place to go for Southern-style comfort food during lunchtime. The thing that sets Jacob’s Pickles apart from other comfort food spots is that several dishes are centred around pickles.

The Southern fried chicken and mac and cheese are also crowd favourites. The restaurant tends to get a little crowded. So, it’s best to show up early, for a guaranteed a seat for lunch.

These are just four fun restaurants in New York. Remember, whichever one you choose will make your appetite very happy indeed!
