What to Do on a Girl’s Weekend in New York City

March 9, 2019

Are you planning a girl’s weekend in New York City? If so, you literally have thousands of activity choices available to you. After all, it was the base for Sex and The City and those girls knew how to have fun! These are four things you definitely don’t want to miss!

Check Out the Top of the Rock

There’s only ONE Rockefeller Center! The top floors are devoted to a three-story observation area that offers fantastic views of the city. There’s also a gift shop and a theatre where guests are invited to watch a brief film about the history of the centre and NBC.

Unlike other popular observation spots in the city, the Top of the Rock is an open-air venue, making it one of the best places to get a picture (or selfie) with the city skyline as the backdrop. Tickets need to be purchased in advance. So, make sure to plan accordingly.

Eat at Chelsea Market

At Chelsea Market, you’re sure to find a place to eat your entire group will agree on. That’s because there are more than 13,000 square feet of storage space here, all dedicated to restaurants and grocery-related retail.

Whether it’s lunch at Num Pang sandwich shop or wine at the Tippler, there are enough options for Chelsea Market to be your go-to food destination throughout the entire adventure.

See a Show

If you want to immerse yourself into New York’s nightlife, there’s no better way than to head to Broadway for a show. Think Waitress or Wicked.

Broadway is made up of several different theatres, each of them scheduling different musicals throughout the year.

There’s also Lincoln Center, Manhattan’s famous Center for the Performing Arts which is the home to the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet and other internationally-renowned performing arts organizations.

Take a Helicopter Ride

For the most fun, if your group is big on bravery, purchase tickets from a company that offers “open door” helicopter rides. It’s an exciting way to take in the city and make sky-high memories you won’t soon forget!

These are just a few things to think about participating in, on your girl’s weekend in New York City. It’s always best to plan everything in advance. That way, it won’t take up time while you’re there.
