6 Ways to Turn Chicken Leftovers Into a Delicious Meal

Leftovers can be so much fun and interesting, only if you allow them to be. Whether you’ve got some from that roasted chicken you whipped up a day back or baked a bit too many chicken breasts than you need, we’ve got you covered with some amazingly delicious and creative ways to put those leftovers to use.

Top it On a Pizza

Yep, you got that right! If you’re not sure what to do with that leftover chicken, just cut it into cubes or shred it add layer it on top of your homemade pizza with all the other toppings. You’ll be surprised at how delicious and effortless this can be!

Mix it into Your Salad

A foolproof way to utilize that leftover chicken is to add it to your salad. Not only will it be an excellent protein source, but will also add some flavour and depth into it. Make sure your salad has a good amount of greens, a nice dressing and some crunchy additions like nuts as well.

Make a Chicken Pie

What’s a genius way to spend the end of your day putting your leftovers to use, not having to spend a lot of time in the kitchen and actually enjoy the meal that you end up with? That’s right! Turn it into a pie! When you have the chicken ready, it’ll hardly take any time to prep, and once it is all done, you can sit down and enjoy your comfort food in bliss!

One pot dishes are always a winner- whether it is a fragrant rice pilaf or an easy soup, and when you’ve got some chicken leftovers, it can really take things up a notch. The next time you’re whipping up a quick soup for dinner, add those leftover shredded chicken breasts into the mix to pump up the flavour. Prepare your one-pot rice dish as you would, and finally, add the shredded chicken into the mix.

Add it to Your Pasta

You probably knew this one was coming! Adding your leftover cooked chicken to a basic pasta can really lend it a nice texture and flavour, and that too with minimal effort. Plus, that also means less waste! In fact, chicken goes so well with homemade pad thai and risottos too- make sure you give this a try the next time you have chicken from last night’s dinner left in the refrigerator.

Make a Sandwich

Last, but not least, you can also use the chicken leftovers on your sandwich or burrito. Got baked chicken breasts ready to be used? Shred them, add some BBQ sauce, some grated cheese and use the mixture as a delicious sandwich filling in addition to other veggies! Mix some shredded chicken with cooked beans and spices and wrap it all up in a tortilla for a nice filling burrito.
