Day Nursery // The road to independence

August 4, 2018
This September Piglet will be making the move to the next stage within her nursery setting. Heading up to the older toddler room in preparation for preschool.  Realistically she should have made the move a few months ago, however, there wasn’t any space available within that room for her. Not that I minded her staying put in the early toddlers’ room. She loves it in there and the thought of her having to leave her current keyworker behind fills me with dread. They have such a close bond that I just know that the first few weeks are going to be difficult when I take her in on a morning. Alas, the move is going to happen, despite me hoping that she’d stay in the Squirrels room until she (hopefully) made the move to the school preschool in January.

The road to independence

A new room also brings a wave of additional changes, the biggest one being potty training (which I have been delaying as it is one of my least favourite parenting tasks). Alongside the independence that the nursery like to give the older toddlers. From finding their own peg in a morning to ensuring that they have additional clothing supplies to cover wet play and of course, the spare underwear for potty training accidents. To support Piglet’s journey through to independence Stuck On You kindly sent through a personalised top loading backpack. Which is plenty big enough to hold everything she needs to take with her as well as space for her drawings and craft creations that she brings home. The large top loading section, secured with a drawstring, means that it’s easy to access to load, unload and find whatever it is that you are looking for. Complete with a smaller front zipped pocket to hold letters, her toothbrush (they like them to brush after meals) and sunscreen. Whilst the personalisation on the front of the bag will aid her with name recognition as she matches her bag to her peg. Plus nobody can accidentally bring it home.
