Spring cleaning fever seems to have taken hold of me this past week. I’ve got itchy feet when I look around the house and find things that need to be sorted or cleared out. I’ve made a start on a couple of things this week and feeling better for it. It’s amazing just how much stuff one family accumulates.
READ
This week has all been about sorting through paperwork. From documents for Piglet’s christening, sorting home insurance quotes and ensuring that I’ve paid my tax bill. Not the most interesting of reads but a necessity of life.
WATCHED
Last Friday saw the release of A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix. Having re-watched the film over Christmas and enjoyed the first book in the series. We have been looking forward to the Netflix Original Series. With just eight episodes available we are trying to make it last by watching two episodes each weekend (although I have to confess to being tempted to Netflix cheat on the children whilst they are at school).
HEARD
I’ve been so busy over the past week ensuring that my inbox is heading towards zero rather than filling up with unanswered/awaiting action emails. So whilst I have been busy with day-to-day admin I have suddenly realised that I can play Netflix in the background on my computer. So I have been listening to my beloved Pride and Prejudice – I’ve watched it that many times that I know what is happening on the screen without even watching.
MADE
Does organising the children’s playroom count? I’ve been through all their games and puzzles to check that we still have all the pieces. Clearing out broken games, missing jigsaw and general tat that has accumulated. Now it is much more functional and a space for everything – I can only hope that it stays like that.
WORE
I bought a pair of wedge ankle boots late last year but feared that the wedge heel was a little too high for me. This week I have embraced them and have been wearing them on the school run. They are actually really quite comfortable and look fab with my treggings.
LASTLY
I’ve been attempting to be a better mum this week with Tigger having a friend over for tea on Monday and Roo has one of her friends over this evening. Playdates are so much easier when they are older.
