Paperwork, Organisation and Wedge Heels #LittleLoves

January 20, 2017

Spring cleaning fever seems to have taken hold of me this past week. I’ve got itchy feet when I look around the house and find things that need to be sorted or cleared out. I’ve made a start on a couple of things this week and feeling better for it. It’s amazing just how much stuff one family accumulates.

This week has all been about sorting through paperwork. From documents for Piglet’s christening, sorting home insurance quotes and ensuring that I’ve paid my tax bill. Not the most interesting of reads but a necessity of life.

Last Friday saw the release of A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix. Having re-watched the film over Christmas and enjoyed the first book in the series. We have been looking forward to the Netflix Original Series. With just eight episodes available we are trying to make it last by watching two episodes each weekend (although I have to confess to being tempted to Netflix cheat on the children whilst they are at school).

I’ve been so busy over the past week ensuring that my inbox is heading towards zero rather than filling up with unanswered/awaiting action emails. So whilst I have been busy with day-to-day admin I have suddenly realised that I can play Netflix in the background on my computer. So I have been listening to my beloved Pride and Prejudice – I’ve watched it that many times that I know what is happening on the screen without even watching.

Does organising the children’s playroom count? I’ve been through all their games and puzzles to check that we still have all the pieces. Clearing out broken games, missing jigsaw and general tat that has accumulated. Now it is much more functional and a space for everything – I can only hope that it stays like that.

I bought a pair of wedge ankle boots late last year but feared that the wedge heel was a little too high for me. This week I have embraced them and have been wearing them on the school run. They are actually really quite comfortable and look fab with my treggings.

I’ve been attempting to be a better mum this week with Tigger having a friend over for tea on Monday and Roo has one of her friends over this evening. Playdates are so much easier when they are older.

I love Pride and prejudice so much. I’m sure I’ve seen it over 50 times but not watched it for years. Must get it out again. Love the wedges (or anything that will give me a bit of height!).

January feels like the right time to be organising and decluttering the home – there are only three of us in our household and I’m constantly finding new things to get rid of. Where does all the stuff come from?! Just this week we got rid of 10+ books from my son’s bookshelf.

Lovely that you’re enjoying A Series of Unfortunate Events as a family, and Pride and Prejudice is pure comfort viewing.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I’m decluttering slowly too. I hate games and puzzles with missing pieces so that sounds like productive time.

Love the boots. I have been doing the exact same going through bedrooms and wardrobes and clearing out and organizing and getting rid of so much from last year. It tends to clutter our house. Big ebay and charity haul needed. Love a good wedge heel myself. I am in love with netflix too much on my to watch list already everyone is talking about this one this week. Sounds good. Popping over from #littleloves and happy weekend ahead.

I’m doing my Spring cleaning room by room and 10 minutes at a time just because the kids want to scratch at my ankles if I go upstairs without them! I’ll be following suit with sorting out all the household stuff when we get back from skiing, boring! I’m tempted to invest in Netflix again as there seem to be so many good series on at the moment! xx

I’m with you on the decluttering! It’s such a good feeling isn’t it. I’m struggling with toys at the moment – I never know what to keep or donate (in case we have another one). I need to watch A Series of Unfortunate Events, I love the film. Your ‘Netflix Cheat’ comment made me laugh! Enjoy your weekend xx

Love the wedges, I always find them way comfier than heels these days. I think the decluttering bug seems to have bitten everyone this January, everyone seems to be getting rid of things. I’ve probably got rid of 6 bin bags of things already and I’ve barely even begun – not quite sure where on earth it was all hiding to be honest, but its gone all the same. Everyone seems to be loving A Series of Unfortunate Events, I’ve not read it or watched the film, so the series might be a good place to start. Hope you’re having a good weekend!

Oh I loved watching a series of unfortunate events, it was an awesome film!

    I love a good de-clutter, I always feel better when it’s done.
A Series of Unfortunate Events is fantastic isn’t it? I got really cross when I realised the girls had been watching it without me while I was cooking the other night, haha!
    Have a great week x

Absolutely with you on Pride and Prejudice. Why not listen in the background?! Have you watched Love and Friendship? Its on Netflix at the moment and I watched as was recommended for Pride & Prej fans but not nearly as good.
