Orchard Toys – Shopping List {Review}

October 30, 2015

This month as part of our Orchard Toys Official Tester role we have been lucky enough to have the Shopping List game. My children have a love/hate relationship when it comes to completing the weekly shop with me but I have found that over the years that if I give them their own shopping list with an item or two on it they are much happier to come and wander around the aisles and fill up the trolley for me.

A drawing of a cartoon characterThe Shopping List game from Orchard Toys enables children to have the fun of filling up the shopping trolley or basket with items on their lists without having to leave the comfort of their own home whilst having some educational fun along the way.

Shopping List

Be the first to find the items on your list in this fun memory game

Contents:

  • 2x Shopping trolleys
  • 2x Shopping baskets
  • 4 x Shopping lists
  • 32 Item cards
  • Instruction leaflet

Suitable for ages 3+ years and for 2-4 players

How to play:

  1. Each player selects a shopping list and either a basket or trolley
  2. Shuffle the shopping items and place face down on the table or floor (for added difficulty place back in the box and give it a shake)
  3. Each player takes it in turn (starting with the youngest) to select a shopping item and see if it is on their list, if it is then they place it within the shopping basket or trolley, if not they place the card back onto the table face down (or back in the box)
  4. Continue in a clockwise rotation until one player has filled their shopping basket or trolley

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…

The Shopping List game has been a huge hit with all the family, we’ve all sat down around the dining room table and enjoyed a game. Roo and Tigger especially have discovered their competitive side when it comes to this game with them each wanting to have two cards to fill and see who manages to do it first. To make it more difficult for them I popped the item cards back in the box so that they couldn’t see where the other had placed unused item back on the table.

The quality of game pieces within the Shopping List game is consistent with what you’d expect from Orchard Toys. Each piece is made of thick cardboard that has been laminated on both designs with each a game piece item or the Orchard Toys logo – built to last and easy to pick pieces for little hands.

Price and Availability

Shopping List is available priced at £7.50 direct from Orchard Toys, Amazon and all other good toy retailers
