Mouth and Foot Painting Artists | Your Christmas Cards and Stocking Fillers sorted

December 1, 2020

Wow! what a year. For so many of us, friends and family have felt somewhat out of reach in 2020. In order to bring some Christmas spirit and connection back into our lives, I am delighted to team up with the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA), to giveaway a bundle of festive goodies worth over £80, for you and your loved ones. From Christmas cards to family fun at home with jigsaw puzzles, a paint set, and a children’s book – all of which could also make fantastic Christmas gifts and stocking fillers.

Mouth and Foot Painting Artists

The Mouth and Foot Painting Artists are an incredible organisation of artists that paint without the use of their hands. As disabled people, the MFPA appreciate more than most how difficult lockdown has been, and how important keeping socially connected can be. So they are determined to help bring families closer together this Christmas, including this giveaway for you!

MFPA Christmas Cards and Gifts

For over 60 years, the MFPA has reproduced stunning artworks painted by mouth or foot into Christmas cards, calendars and other seasonal products, which are available to purchase online. The talented artists that paint them, in turn, become financially independent and achieve self-fulfilment by turning their artistic skill into a career.

Festive Giveaway with the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists

This giveaway bundle includes the following selection of their products:

  • Christmas cards – A variety of designs ideal to send to loved ones this Christmas, even when we can’t be with them in person. Because a text just won’t cut it this year!
  • Colourful desk and pocket calendars – Perfect for planning all the fabulous things you’ll want to do in 2021. I’m staying optimistic we’ll have a few more things in the calendar next year…
  • Gorgeous wrapping paper designs and tags – Got your Christmas shopping underway? Why not make your gifts look even more special this year with quality wrapping paper. With grown-up snowflakes, to kid-friendly snowman designs, this selection has you covered whoever the lucky receiver.
  • A selection of 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles – For long winter nights to while away the hours inside.
  • Animal themed children’s jigsaw puzzle pack – Work your way through four animal designs, which include a deer, ducks, a cow, and a very cute piggy!
  • Art painting set – With the lockdowns bringing out the nation’s creative side, this set will help you unleash your inner artist. The perfect Christmas gift for all ages, or a little luxury to get you through these remaining weeks.
  • Danny’s Dream – a magical children’s book illustrated by mouth painting artist Ian Parker who painted each of the 34 illustrations in the book. The story is about a young boy who is confronted with great difficulties, then one day he makes an amazing discovery that totally transforms his life and helps him to achieve his dream to be an Olympic champion. You might be familiar with this as I attended the launch of the book in 2019!

If you want a sneak peek, you can check out all the gifts in their online shop here: https://www.mfpa.uk/shop/

Christmas Tutorial

If you don’t want the MFPA fun to end with the giveaway, they’ll also be launching three Christmas-themed family-friendly art tutorials, guaranteed to get you into the Christmas spirit. These include:

  • Christmas Pudding Silk Painting with Tom Yendell
  • Watercolour Penguin Painting with Vanessa Haarhoff
  • Watercolour Snowman Painting with Bazza West

Watch to see how the artists paint and have a go yourself, with all of the tutorials suitable for beginner level.

The first one, the Christmas Pudding Silk Painting with Tom Yendell, is live now. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom at KidZania London last year for the book launch of Danny’s Dream, so know first-hand how fun learning with Tom can be, as a fantastic foot and mouth painting artist!

Learn the basics of silk painting – stretching fabric over a wooden frame, drawing out your image in indelible pen, creating your lines with gutta (which stops the inks from bleeding into each other, like a barrier), and fill in with colour ink.

Silk is a medium Tom enjoys because it’s quick and easy to paint and good for beginners where you don’t have to be particularly precise. But if you prefer to use an alternative painting method, you can still follow the design with whatever you have at home.

MFPA Christmas Orders

The MFPA are taking orders for Christmas cards right up to Thursday 17 December. Be sure to purchase yours in time to send to those you care about this Christmas, or to view other seasonal products online at www.mfpa.uk

Check back on their website as more go live!
