Back when Roo was in Year 2 her class teacher sent her home with a Letts learning activity book which she could complete at home as additional learning. If she completed a page or two of the book each week she would receive a gold star and this would count towards certificates (what child doesn’t love receiving a certificate). As she left her infant school and started junior school it wasn’t something that they offered so I decided to purchase some of the Letts learning activity books and continue the idea at home.
Getting her to complete one or two pages a week has become a good habit for her, however, half terms and school holidays are when we struggle as who wants to be learning whilst they are on holiday. Letts Wild About books are the perfect compromise…
Letts Wild About
Letts Wild About books are matched to the National Curriculum (depending on age group). Each book takes your child on a wild adventure, where they will practice key Maths and English skills and explore the amazing world of animals along the way.
- Clear and simple explanations
- Accessible activities which support everything your child has learnt at school
- Quick test to check progress
- Packed with weird and wonderful animals and Wild Facts
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
Whilst I have to admit that I am quite lucky in that Roo is a studious child, she loves learning and loves her hard work being recognised. Sometimes trying to get her to read a book or complete learning activities over the holidays can be difficult. Wanting to avoid that post-holiday learning slump I like to keep her brain occupied, this is where the Letts Wild About books really come into their own. Filled with the learning activities that I want her to do, however, they are somewhat disguised amongst the animal facts and activities based on the different animals.
With a wide selection of workbooks available, I am able to pick out the ones that she needs to work on. For example, grammar and punctuation or maths problem solving. Roo has been completing a couple of these books over the past few weeks and has been alternating between maths and English. She’s really enjoying completing the activities and learning various animal facts.
