This is a gifted partnership

How does such a small baby bring so much stuff with them? When you have a baby, they are these tiny little things but the amount of stuff they need takes up the whole house. As children grow and become older, there is still a lot of stuff. Use these ideas to free up some of the space needed for babies and toddlers.

When it comes to meal time, babies need high chairs. Most of the times, toddlers will stay in their highchairs until they are around three years old. But when it comes to trying to clear out space, the highchair is big and bulky and there are ways to help take up less space or at least feel that way.

Ways to transition your toddler to the dining table

Transitioning your toddler to the dining table can be a challenge. The chairs are too small, not high enough and it is difficult getting your child use to not throwing then plates and utensils everywhere.

Convertible High Chairs or Booster Seats

One way to make it easier for young kids to eat at the table is by using the existing highchair or a booster seat to let your child sit at the same table as everyone else. This helps kids get used to sitting at the table and the routines that go with mealtime. Many of the popular highchairs now can have the tray removed so it can be used to push it straight to the table. If the high chair doesn’t, consider moving to a booster seat that can be used at the table.

Child Sized Plates, Cups and Utensils

It is important that kids start to learn to feed themselves. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a challenge for some time while they are learning it. That is why it is best to consider plates, cups and utensils that are made for kids. One example is to use Nuby SureGrip Tableware. When you are using these types of tableware, the plates do not slip as easily, some will even suction to the table. This helps to keep the food where it should be. As children learn, the plates don’t move as much and before you know it, you don’t even need the speciality tableware

If you are trying to downsize the number of things that your little one’s needs, start by considering these simple tasks. It helps your child to move forward and learn while creating less stuff in your home.
