4 Reasons to get your groove on in the garden

May 24, 2017

Music is a big part of my life. I’m not particularly musical myself and my singing voice could do with a lesson or two. This doesn’t stop me singing along to the radio whether I’m in the car, in the kitchen or at my desk working. With the summer sun finally making an appearance I am spending more time outside. Making the most of the sunshine and enjoying the family garden that we have always longed for.

Indoors I am lucky enough to have the Retro Mini Emma Bridgewater Radio which travels between my desk and the kitchen depending on where I am spending most of my day. Now that I am heading outdoors more often I have been treated to the Emma Bridgewater Hepburn Mk II Digital Radio. Enabling me to get my groove on no matter where I am, so let me share with you reasons to get your groove on in the garden…

Hosting family BBQs

There is nothing quite like having friends and family over especially in the summer. Firing up the BBQ, children laughing and playing in the background whilst you listen to your favourite tunes on the radio. A chance to catch up with loved ones and enjoy the summer sun.

Good food, good company, and good music is the perfect recipe for any family BBQ.

Gardening

Up until last year, my idea of gardening was occasionally blasting the decking with the pressure washer. Nowadays I realise just how much is involved in keeping a garden neat and tidy which is easier said than done with children running around. A full day can be spent in the garden, mowing the lawn, pulling up weeds and tidying the edging – a gardener’s work is never done but will some music playing in the background and the sun on your back it makes the task that much easier.

Hanging out the washing

Occasionally I manage to catch a glimpse of the bottom of my wash basket, usually just as someone else is tipping in another load ready to start the washing cycle. The summer sun means more than just getting outdoors when you have a family, it means you can finally hang the washing on the line. It’s a thankless task but made easier with music and little helpers to pass you the pegs and the next item of washing.

Getting the paddling pool out for the children

Splish, splash! Summer sun, paddling pools, and children simply make enjoying the garden more fun. Whether they are crazing you to get it out, complaining as the water is too cold or attempting to rewash your clothes from the washing line – there is sure to be lots of fun and laughter. Throw in a slide, garden gardens and some pop filled tunes and it is the best way to enjoy a warm summers day.
