Birthday fun with Disney On Ice
When it comes to the children’s birthdays we always try to arrange a day out or similar to celebrate. Opting to create memories rather than just handing over gifts. With Piglet about to turn three, Disney On Ice Dream Big seemed like the perfect way to celebrate.
Mickey and Minnie
The show opens with Mickey and Minnie Mouse taking to the ice. Accompanied by a host of skaters they sing and dance to welcome us all to the show. Giving us just a glimpse of the fun and magic that is about to be showcased.
The show features some of the Disney favourites including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Rapunzel. Each Disney theme coming on to the ice showcasing a favourite scene, song and actions from the films in which they are famous for.
Given that Piglet is still a toddler I was concerned that she would be unable to sit through the show. However, she was captivated from the moment the arena lights went down. With her favourite characters from Disney that she has watched time and time again taking to the ice.
The skating, the music, the fun… everything just had her smiling, giggling and pointing out all the characters. A truly magical affair for her and a joy to watch for me.
Although this was primarily a treat for Piglet, it didn’t stop Roo and Tigger enjoying the show. Moana, I have to confess was my highlight (I never complain when Piglet requests to watch this at home).
The show highlighting that the characters all dream big. A positive message for the children and parents alike to take home with them. There may well be challenges in life but you can overcome them and live happily ever after.
Throughout the show Tinkerbell makes regular appearances adding the magical touch to proceedings. Waving her magic wand and fluttering her wings.
Disney On Ice – Dream Big Finale
Given that the show had been spectacular throughout, they didn’t hold back on the finale. With all the characters coming back on the ice to give us all one last glimpse of them.
This may have been our first experience of Disney On Ice, but it certainly won’t be our last. Tigger has already asked about the next show – The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice that is on in the Spring.
