Disney Cars Off-Road Racin’ Lightning McQueen {Review}

October 25, 2014

I often wonder whether the creators of Disney Pixar Cars knew what a phenomenon it would become? Lightning McQueen has to be one of the most recognisable cars ever (other than Herbie for us slightly older generation). Tigger is no exception and often either watches the films or has Lightning McQueen racing alongside his Thomas & Friends trains.

Disney Cars Off-Road Racin’ Lightning McQueen

Racing star Lightning McQueen is challenged by four characters to brave off-road terrain. Will he survive the crazy course that includes prickly cactus patches, gruesome graveyards, scary forests and Tailpipe Cavern? This new version of Lightning McQueen comes alive with wicked, off-road styling. He is large scale for wilder adventures. There’s no course too tough to tackle – nothing is off limits.

Key features

  • Blazing through tough terrain is a snap when you have side-to-side steering – just press on the left or right of the vehicle to go where you want
  • When you press down on the rear of the car, you’ll hear his feisty engine revving sounds
  • Activate more iconic sounds and phrases by pushing the ’95’ button on the roof

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…

As soon as Tigger saw the familiar Lightning McQueen he was very excited, although was a little surprised when he tried to grab it from the packaging to hear it rev up. The packaging was surprisingly easy to open, thankfully as Tigger was not keen on waiting. As soon as Tigger got his hands on it was racing around the house with it, along the carpet, jumping over books and racing against his trains. The ’95’ button on top of Lightning McQueen says over 10 phrases and sounds, which Tigger likes to tray and guess which one it will say next.

Personally I really like that this is a chunky but sturdy racing car, it is easy for Tigger to hold and race around with and the revving engine and sounds can be turned off by a switch underneath (fabulous when you need a little quiet play).

Available from Amazon, Argos and all other good toy retailers for £22.99 which personally I think is a good price. Tigger has really loved that Lightning McQueen revs up and talks.

Disclosure: We received a Disney Cars Off-Road Racin’ Lightning McQueen FOC for the purpose of review.
