Some of us can’t travel all the time. Some people get that two-week break every year that the whole family counts down to. First, it’s months to go, then weeks, and then more excitingly days to go. Holidays are the perfect opportunity to spend time with your loved ones and really bond and enjoy the quality of time you have together. So there is no surprise that we are all looking for inspiration for different ways to capture those memories to keep the emotive feelings of happiness and pure joy alive.

Share your captured memories

I thought I would share with you some of the easy and simple ways you can share your captured memories with friends, family and loved ones. Enabling you to keep a snapshot of the memory of your holiday alive for years to come.

Get snapping away

The invention of smartphone cameras can often make us lazy when it comes to taking pictures. While they are amazing for those smaller snapshots, often you want to take some pictures that will be worthy of being printed on canvases or even put on the wall. Get snapping away on your camera and create some fantastic memories. Even heading to blogs online and reading tips and tricks from a photographer or similar to get some inspiration on the type of shots to take. You could even learn how to use some of the manual settings on your camera.

A calendar for the following year

A great idea is to use your family pictures of your holiday as the snapshots for the year ahead in a calendar. A photo calendar that you create can be a great reminder all year round of some of the best memories you have created on that family trip. Not only could you find this useful, but photo calendars also make great gift ideas for family members. It is a lovely way to share some of your best memories with the people that you love the most.

Personalised cards

If you have found that you have liked some of the images that you have captured on your travels as a family then why not use them for cards in the future. You could create personalised cards for birthdays or any occasion that fits. Sending them to family members as well as friends. It is a quick and easy way to share something a little more personal and a fantastic idea to use some of the images you may have captured on your holiday. Family and friends could then use that card and display it on a notice board, for example.

Make a video log

A video log or “vlog” as it is more commonly known is an edited video of clips. More people, thanks to smartphone technology and small digital cameras, are now able to video far more easily than they used to be. Capturing conversations and live-action from a click of a button. The with easy software like iMovie or Windows movie maker, you can then edit the clips together, even place a commentary over it or music and voila, you have your holiday captured on film.

Some people even go as far as to upload to websites like YouTube, making it easier for friends, family, and even the general public to watch your holiday memories.

Create a family blog

If you want your friends, family, and children to be able to look back on your memories fondly, then a family blog is a great way to share snapshots of your holiday and even your everyday life. More people are considering blogs, not just as business ideas, but also as hobbies and an online scrapbook of your memories and experiences.

Make a physical scrapbook or photobook

If you are not all clued up on blogs, then a good old-fashioned scrapbook is a great way to capture memories in physical things. Print out pictures of your holiday and write little anecdotes beside them. Stick receipts, tickets, boarding cards, or even beer mats and other things you find that will help capture the memories of your holiday.

Or better yet, why not create a photobook online instead. It is usually really simple to do and gives you the chance to have all of your photographic memories in one place to look back in years to come. They also make great gifts if you wanted to share your holiday memories with family.

Don’t forget the typical souvenirs

Finally, let’s not forget those all-important typical souvenirs you can pick up. The branded glass, the funny t-shirt, a hat, or even a kitchen magnet. You could even start to create your own family traditions by picking up something like this before you leave. All of which can spark memories for you in years to come and help to keep the fun alive.

Hopefully, this has given you plenty of ideas on how you can capture the memories and utilise them for others to enjoy in the future.
