You want to make it as difficult as possible for the ants to get into the home, so trim some of these back to make it harder.
Cleaning the home is a good option to keep the ants away. Keep the kitchen clean and make sure that the trash is taken out at least once a day. Avoid leaving a bunch of dirty dishes in the sink and try to sweep up and vacuum some of the areas where you have a lot of food being prepared, such as in the kitchen. For example, using one part white vinegar mixed with one part of water and applying it to the area where you have seen some ants before will disrupt the pheromone trails of the ants so they aren’t able to come back to that area. Sealing up any ant entry points make it harder too.
Some homeowners find that soapy water is a good way to kill ants on contact. Just add a teaspoon of dish soap with a bottle full of water and start to spray when you see a trail of ants. Chalk barriers around the entry points of your home will also make sure that the ants will stay away. Trying out a few of these methods are all-natural and can keep your home safe from all the ants.
