Today was my birthday. I’m one of those unfortunate people who celebrate their birthday in December and to make matters worse my birthday falls between Christmas and New Year.

A day in which I received a cousin for my seventh birthday – who a) wants to share their birthday with someone and b) wants a cousin for their birthday)
A day in which presents arrive wrapped in Christmas paper
A day which is never celebrated as much as it would be had I been born in a different month

A day which nobody sang me happy birthday
A day that saw me not receive a birthday cake with no candles to blow out and make a wish upon
A day which reaffirmed my dislike of my birthday
