REVIEW: Fruit Bowl – Fruit Peelers

April 23, 2013

I’m sure I’m not the only parent out there who wishes their children would eat more fruit. Trying to get five pieces of fruit and vegetables into Roo can often prove difficult. So when I was offered the opportunity to receive some Fruit Bowl Fruit Peelers I wondered if this would ease my daily plight.

A bottle of beer on a wooden table
Fruit Bowl Fruit Peelers (RRP £1.59 for a pack of 3, 20g bars)

Delicious fruit snacks made into fun, peel-able strips! Made 100% from fruit – with nothing artificial added;

  • One 20g pack counts as one of you 5 a day
  • Contains 7 times its own weight in fruit!
  • Available in 3 delicious flavours, raspberry, blackcurrant and strawberry
  • Just 68 calories

The samples arrived over the Easter half term and Roo was with me when the post lady delivered them. We quickly opened the pack and discovered we had been sent the Strawberry flavour. Each Fruit Peelers packet contains 3x 20g bars with each bar containing 6 peel-able fruity strips. Roo and I each took it in turns to try the fruit peeler and to my surprise it tasted delicious. At first glance of the bar I thought it would taste rubbery and bland. I was wrong, very wrong, each strip is chewy without having to chew and chew and chew, with the fruity flavour increasing with each bite.

Roo really enjoyed both the taste and the novelty of peeling each strip off in order to eat. At £1.59 for a packet of three I think it is a good price. As the bars come individually wrapped they are great to pop into lunchboxes or the changing bag.
