The one where Tigger is invited to a party

March 7, 2014

Earlier this week saw an important milestone in Tigger’s life… he was invited to his first birthday party.

Now he has attended a few parties in the past but they have either been family occasions or ones that Roo has been invited to and they have allowed Tigger to attend too. However, as I collected him from pre-school he came running up to me clutching a drawing in one hand and the all important invitation in the other.

In that brief moment of seeing the invite I was both pleased for him but also a little sad to see that my baby boy was growing up before my eyes and that this would just be the beginning of the party circuit for him.

The party is being held at a local family restaurant that has a children’s play area attached, thankfully I can take Roo along and just pay for her meal and play so I don’t have to try and make other arrangements for her. My main worry is the food, as I’m sure you all realise he is fussy, so I’ve ordered him the chicken nuggets and chips selection in the hope that he’ll eat the chips and I can pass the nuggets to Roo!

Now I just need to work out what you buy a 4 year old boy for his birthday, any tips gratefully welcomed!

Ah 4 year old boys! I would say anything to do with dinosaurs or hot wheels. These go down a treat in our house.

Aww, bless him. They get so excited when they get party invitations don’t they – heartbreaking, but in a good way. It’s great seeing their joy.

What we don’t like to see is the times they come out of school in tears, because a classmate has handed out invites to their party and they didn’t get one. Bless their little hearts, they take it so personally! 🙂

kids love birthday parties! I’ve noticed though that when they reach about 7 the parties get replaced by sleepovers etc….
