Just Boo and Roo

February 24, 2013

I’ve felt quite guilty this half term that whilst Roo has been off school one or all of us has been ill. So plans of great adventures have gone by the wayside #MummyFail. However on Friday come rain, hail or sunshine I was determined to spend the day just the two of us. With Mr Boo at work and Tigger at Nursery it gave us the opportunity to be just us two once again.

Before I had Tigger, myself and Roo would often just jump in the car and head off for a random adventure somewhere. I do miss those days and I’m sure that Roo does too.

Anyway, so Roo had originally asked to go to the Sealife Centre, but as she had been there with Mr Boo earlier in the week I wanted to do something different. I suggested that we take a trip into the city for some shopping, lunch and possibly a trip to Norwich Castle.

I prefer to use park and ride as finding a parking spot can sometimes prove frustrating especially with it being half term. I let Roo ask the bus driver for the tickets and pay, it was only when she handed me the change and ticket that I realised he had thought she was under 5. Bless him.

Due to bus station works the bus dropped us off outside Norwich Castle so we opted to go there first.

Even though we have annual Norfolk Museum passes, we managed to find a spiral staircase that we didn’t realise was there and kept going down and down, a whole 40 steps down.

With Norwich Castle all done, time do head off to do some shopping. Roo wanted to head to Chapelfield first so she could see what delights the Disney Store had. Sadly she couldn’t see anything she liked (luckily for me as a trip to the Disney store usually costs me big bucks). We looked in a few more store before thinking about what to have for lunch.

Now Roo is like me in most ways, none moreso than her love of Pizza Hut… great choice Roo.

After a yummy lunch, we headed off to tackle the last of the shops. We managed to find a new jigsaw puzzle for Roo, Scooby Doo of course! and Tigger a lovely Dear Zoo jigsaw puzzle too. A quick stop at ELC for a new book each, Roo opted for a Disney Princess Storybook collection and I picked up The Gruffalo’s Child for Tigger.

I really wanted to get Roo a new coat but I think I missed the winter coat buying season as every store we went into didn’t have any… I guess I’ll have to look online.

A quick dash to the park and ride bus to retrieve the car, then headed over to Startrite to get some new school shoes.

A productive day spent with my mini-me, we drive each other up the wall but when it comes down to it we love each other madly.

I love you Roo xxx
