Finishing Touches | Bathroom Accessories

September 27, 2015

Last year when we renovated our bathroom it was a huge transformation. The previous bathroom had been poorly installed and it really showed. It was one of those rooms that I really didn’t want anyone to see, hoping that nobody asked to use the toilet. Now, of course, I’m quite proud of my bathroom and I’m happy for anyone to pop to the toilet.

Finishing Touches | Bathroom Accessories

Whilst the correctly installed bathroom suite and large tiles have transformed the space and given it a much cleaner look it is the finishing touches that really make a room.

Towels

We recently replaced our towels after finding the perfect ones in IKEA. Previously we didn’t bother to replacing the towels after our renovation as they were cream/beige thinking that they matched the new colour scheme. However looking at the old towels against the new tiles it was easy to see that they were past their best and needed to be replaced.

Now we have new fluffy towels hanging from the towel rail and it really does look better plus they feel fabulous when you are getting dried after a soak in the tub.

Accessory sets

Having tiled our whole bathroom I wanted to make sure that I had chosen the correct accessory set to house the toilet roll, soap, towel rail etc. as I didn’t want to ruin the sleek hotel feel we had opted for.

The different accessory sets from Bathrooms.com give you the option to buy a complete set or to purchase individual pieces depending on your requirements.

Depending on whether you like to have all your lotions and potions on display will ultimately decide whether you for an open shelving style cabinet or one with doors to hide it all away.

We have a small bathroom so opted for a mirrored bathroom cabinet from Wayfair to house our toiletries whilst the mirror makes the space appear bigger.

Decoration

Dunelm has a great selection of free-standing words, signs, bowls and vases that can be placed on the window sill or on the side.
