“The highly anticipated Teen Beach Movie, is set to follow in the wake of previously globally successful Disney Channel Original Movies such as High School Musical and Camp Rock. Starring Ross Lynch (dubbed the new Zac Efron, from smash hit Disney Channel series Austin & Ally) and newcomer Maia Mitchell, this exuberant song, sand and surf fest, set inside a retro beach party movie, is set to take the UK by storm. “Teen Beach Movie” introduces confident, resilient surfer McKenzie and her carefree boyfriend Brady, a fan of the retro surf musical movie, “Wet Side Story”.
For kids aged 6-14 and their families, the summer splash story line depicts how 1960s sensibilities motivate a modern girl to affirm her capability, strengths and goals.”
This morning in a London venue the premier of the new Disney Teen Beach Movie was held. So whilst celebrities and a select audience have been treated to the first viewing of the film the rest of us will have to wait until Friday 19th July when it premiers on the Disney Channel UK. With plans for the DVD launch sometime in August, I can see this being the must see film for tween and teens alike.
