Shop online to spend less and stress less this Christmas

September 27, 2018

I know I really shouldn’t. Deep down, I know I should be supporting the High Street, saving all of our favourite stores. Every time I hear the news that an old retail favourite is shutting up shop near me, I feel terrible.

But, I’m a busy mum with kids and a husband and a house, and I hold my hands up, online shopping is the future.

Sure, I love the idea of spending a Saturday going for a coffee and browsing around to maybe pick up a piece or two. But when? Once in a blue moon at the very most. Plus, with Christmas fast approaching, I need to do mega shops to give Santa a hand, and I don’t necessarily have time to be zipping around from one retail park to another, only to discover the item I wanted is only in stock at the centre of town store.

Let’s face it, shopping online makes buying stuff a breeze

Whether it’s whopping Christmas lists, weekly shops, or bits and bobs for birthday parties, whatever, just a few clicks and I can switch my mind back onto something more important. Within days, a parcel arrives. Often the next day, nowadays. And while delivery costs used to be extortionate, most of the time now it costs less than petrol and parking, if anything at all.

I’m a huge fan. You can probably tell.

You know what I adore most about hitting the shops online? The fact that I can find things that I would never normally stumble across on the High Street. Little quirky gifts that are really personal and speak volumes about your relationship with someone.

It’s also super easy to find personalised items made from quality materials, that are actually useful, rather than the tacky tat that you might find elsewhere. Despite all its criticisms, I’ll be doing Black Friday from the comfort of my sofa. You won’t see me fighting over TV sets in Argos.

Keeping costs low over the festive season

I’ve previously shared a sneaky peak at one way to keep costs low over the festive season. But the tips and tricks don’t end there. No siree. In fact, I’ve become aware of brand-new cashback website that offers a little bit more than most. Boom25 cashback a brand-spanking new cashback site, that’s arrived just in time for the 2018 Christmas season.

Not only does Boom25 give you cashback on purchases that you make online, any time – as cashback sites tend to do, it also gives you the chance to win back the purchase cost.

What are the chances though, right? I hear you…

Well, in fact, the likelihood of bagging a free item is a little more common than you might have expected. The site announces a winner ever 25 purchases. So, every 25 purchases made by anyone using the site triggers a winner. If if you aren’t a winner you still gain a bonus.

With all those benefits and Boom25 cashback to hand, do you really need any other reason to make the switch from shops to screen this Christmas?
