This year the news has been filled with the excitement for a new Royal Baby. After getting married last year Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they were expecting their first child. Although some considered this a little early to welcome a baby into their marriage, I’m one of those people who gush at the prospect of baby news.
Whilst they have been in the spotlight welcoming Archie Harrison into the world and everyone hoping for a glimpse of the new royal baby. Closer to home many of us will have been hearing news of pregnancies, births, christenings and celebrating first birthdays. When it comes to celebrating these milestones it can be difficult to know what to buy as the perfect gift for the new baby.
Beatrix Potter Gifts By Enesco
Enesco has over thirty years of experience in bringing Beatrix Potter gifts into our lives and those of the new babies we are celebrating. Going from strength to strength they have developed a collection that has something for everyone whether you are looking to purchase a keepsake for a new baby or something that they will use on a regular basis.
Over the last three decades, our collection has grown to include a multitude of hand-painted figurines, both small and large — firstly in resin and more recently in earthenware too — all of which have been inspired by the timeless and iconic illustrations from Beatrix Potter’s world-famous Tales.
As well as figurines, we offer an extensive range of giftware too, including wonderful ceramic homeware and nurseryware, as well as adorable soft toys from GUND®’s Peter Rabbit™ Collection, America’s oldest and most prestigious soft toy company (founded in 1898). An enchanting collaboration between two heritage brands, both much loved around the world, this collection has proved highly popular with collectors and gift-givers alike and features Miss Potter’s most appealing characters in a range of sizes and price points.
Each and every one of our beautifully created Beatrix Potter items is handcrafted to the highest standards by skilled artists and craftspeople, and it is this attention to detail that has ensured the continued success and popularity of our collection.
Peter Rabbit decorative alphabet letters
When it comes to finding that little keepsake that is decorative and personal the Peter Rabbit Decorative Alphabet Letters are the perfect touch. Whether the parents have announced ahead of time the name they have chosen for their new addition. Or you have just received a birth announcement card through the mail.
These 7cm high resin letters and figures will make an adorable addition to a nursery. Adding that simple decorative touch with just an initial or possibly joining with family and friends to purchase the letters to spell out their full name. Something that will sit on the shelf in their room for years to come.
Beatrix Potter Tales
Throughout a child’s life, they will listen to many, many stories read by the parents, family and friends. A wonderful way to honour this as well as fill up their bookshelves in anticipation is giving the gift of a book.
Selecting a classic from your own childhood that you remember listening to or one that your own children loved listening to as they went to bed. There is no doubt that Beatrix Potter Tales are classics and the different characters that she created have been shared with almost all of us at one point or another. So selecting one of these stories is a great choice when it comes to a baby shower gift, welcome to the world or even a first birthday gift.
Add a little message inside the front cover so that the new baby can look back on this throughout their childhood. As well as possibly pass this on to their own children in years to come.
Beatrix Potter Bamboo tableware
Something that might not immediately strike you as a baby gift is tableware. However, the range of Beatrix Potter bamboo tableware is not only adorable but practical too. This is the tableware set that will serve up their first taste of baby rice, contain that all-important slice of toast to start the day. As well as help them transition between a bottle to a cup. A set that will be utilised and washed time and time again. Adding that familiar feeling to mealtimes for little ones.
All three of my children have Beatrix Potter gifts that they received as babies. From beautiful Tales of Beatrix Potter books (with Mrs Tiggy-Winkle being part of my own childhood) to soft toys that can still be found snuggled in the beds or joining in with teddy bears picnics.
Do you or your children have any Beatrix Potter gifts that you have received?
