From when Tigger was little he has loved the Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play range. Even now whenever there are new characters added he will request them for his birthday or Christmas. As he has grown older he has turned his attention to the Trackmaster trains that Roo had when she was younger and he loves to watch them whizzing around the tracks.
Whilst we were away last year we discovered the Thomas & Friends MINIS range. A miniature version of the much-loved trains, however, just because they are mini doesn’t mean that the fun is any smaller. He’s managed to collect several of the Thomas & Friends MINIS trains as treats but has been longing for a toy trainset to play with.
Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends MINIS Motorized Raceway
Thomas & Friends MINIS introduces motorized play for even more fun and excitement! It all starts when you send the included Thomas and James MINIS up the steep vertical lift. The MINIS climb up automatically as the motorized playset lifts them up for an action-packed, multi-track adventure! When the MINIS reach the top of the set, turn the switch to choose your track.
- Playset – assembly required
- Thomas and James exclusive MINIS
- Instruction leaflet
- Requires 3x AA batteries – not included
The Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends MINIS Motorized Raceway comes in several pieces requiring assembly before play can take place. The picture instructions included within the box make this process relatively easy with only a bit of brute force to click parts into place. As well as a screwdriver to open the battery compartment you are ready to go.
The motorized raceway requires 3x AA batteries in order for the vertical lift to work and help Thomas and James back to the start of the tracks. With an on/off switch located next to the battery compartment, it means you can try to conserve the batteries as much as possible by switching off when not in use.
With three tracks to race down it is up to you which one you decide they need to concur first. From the waterfall 360-degree loop track, next is a free-fall drop track headed toward a broken piece of track. Before moving on to the gravity defying and roll upside down sky track. With each engine racing off to see who will make it to the finish line and back up the vertical lift first. Cranky the crane is on hand to rescue any fallen MINIS with his helpful hook.
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
The two main things that Tigger was most excited about with the Thomas & Friends MINIS Motorized Raceway were the exclusive Thomas and James MINIS engines. As well as the motorized track that pulls the MINIS back up to the top of the raceway ready for another race down the track.
With the film Thomas & Friends The Great Race released this year, the motorized raceway seems the perfect pairing to any Thomas fan who loved the film too. The three different tracks add that element of competitiveness that they can play on their own or with a sibling or friend too.
