World Book Day {2015}

March 5, 2015

From an early age, Roo has always been interested in books, whether she was lifting the flaps or listening to someone read to her. Starting school and learning to read has opened her world to an array of different books, from stories to fact based books. Tigger is just starting on his book journey, enjoying learning about different stories via his pre-school with the current favourite being Aliens Love Underpants.

Today marks World Book Day 2015, a day when children across the country are given a book token in order to purchase one of the World Book Day books or to be put towards another book of their choice. This year Tigger exchanged his book token for The Dinosaur That Pooped A Lot!, whereas Roo’s school have chosen to hold onto the book tokens until the book fair arrives in school later this month.

Book and Tigger

Horrible Histories Egyptian Fancy Dress Costume

A person standing in front of a building, with World Book DayOver the past few weeks, Roo has been learning all about the Egyptians so the Horrible Histories Egyptian Fancy Dress Costume was the perfect choice for her.

The white dress with sequin detailing and detachable cape, which also loops around the wrist to give that true Egyptian goddess look.

• Includes cuffs and headband
• Hook and loop tape fastening

On the tag it had a little warning that it may shed some glitter, it does… lots of glitter. Tigger now thinks that Tinkerbell and her friends visited whilst he was at pre-school and sprinkled pixie dust everywhere.

Tigger is superhero mad and whilst Marvel characters aren’t in books as such there are many, many comics on them so kind of a book character.

• Includes helmet mask
• Hook and loop tape fastening
• Detachable cape
• Padded torso

Tigger was disappointed that the Thor costume didn’t come with his hammer and I have to say that I was disappointed about this too. Sadly the Thor hammer isn’t available separately so this is something we will have to try and find elsewhere.

What characters did your children dress up as?

Disclosure: We received the above World Book Day fancy dress outfits FOC for the purpose of review.
