Why Niagara Falls is perfect for young families

October 17, 2016

Many young families struggle to pick holiday destinations. They worry about whether there will be enough to see, whether they’ll be able to get back to the hotel easily if anything goes wrong, and whether there will be enough entertainment for their kids. In today’s post, I’m talking about one place that you probably haven’t thought of yet: Niagara Falls.

It may be a bucket-list destination, but it’s more known for its adventurous visitors and honeymooners that young families. However, I’m here to tell you why most of the attractions you’ll find are actually tailored towards children, and why if you’re planning your next break away, this place should be top of your list.

Hotels that cater for kids

One of the first obstacles when booking a family holiday is making sure that you’re not all split up across the hotel, but you’ll find that most in the Fallsview area cater for children, and even offer family deals when booking. If you want the best Niagara Falls hotel that will offer you two-room Family Suites so that you won’t be split up, but stunning views of the Falls right from your hotel window too, then look no further than the Marriott. Aside from having a spa available for the evenings when you want some rest and relaxation, they have a tour booking system throughout the hotel, to make your stay as smooth as possible.

Tours that teach

Even the most adventurous and daring tours, such as the vintage Areo Car that suspends you above the Niagara Whirlpool, have all been adapted for younger visitors so that every member of the family can delight in each tour the area has to offer. The best part about them for parents, though, is that each tour will offer unique learning experiences for kids too, but in the most enjoyable way possible.

You could take the famous Hornblower Cruise along Niagara River, as expert guides will tell you all the fun facts behind the Falls before you sail up to meet them and get covered in the spray. Or how about taking them to the IMAX cinema close-by, where they can walk around the Daredevil Museum? This tells the tale of the fearless people who went over the Falls, complete with props and eye-witness accounts.

So much more than the Falls

Aside from all these attractions directly surrounding Niagara Falls, the area has so much more to offer young families. Clifton Hill is perfect for children, with arcades on every corner, a haunted house, and two mini golf courses – choose between Dinosaur Adventure golf, Canada’s largest mini-golf attraction, and the new, glow-in-the-dark Wizards golf course.

If that’s not enough, though, you can always take them for a day out at the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. It’s perfect for those who don’t want to stray too far from the hotel, as this three-acre site with 16 waterslides is only a two-minute walk from Niagara Falls.
