What to Include in the Ultimate Care Package

February 22, 2018

We all have times where we don’t quite feel ourselves. If you’ve experienced this, then you know that those little supportive gestures mean so very much.

If you know someone who is going through a tough time, a care package is the ultimate way to support your friend, family member or loved one from afar. To make yours extra special and heartfelt, here are the ultimate items to include in a loving care package.

Letters and Kind Words

One of the best ways to show someone you care is with a handwritten note. You can do this in many ways, such as including a small calendar and highlighting the date when you will next see each other. Or, for an extra special gesture, include ‘open when’ letters for different occasions, such as when they are missing home, feel lonely or need cheering up.

Favourite Treats

If you’re a bit of a foodie, then you will know that your favourite treats can really cheer you up. As such, make sure to put their preferred sweet items in the care package. You could bake and include some delicious handmade goodies, or pop in their favourite bar of chocolate. No matter which you choose, it’ll be gratefully received.

A Selection of Photographs

Sending a selection of photographs is a great idea if they have relocated and are struggling to settle, as they can place them around their home to make it feel homelier. It also reminds them that no matter the distance, they have a friend who cares. Tip: write anecdotes and memories on the back to really make them smile.

Healthy Items

When we feel down, we don’t always look after ourselves. So it’s a good idea to pack a few health-related items. This could include vitamin C tablets to boost their immune system, fruit and herbal teas, or natural oils to promote relaxation. Also, add some tissues in case your care package makes them weepy!

Pamper Time

In difficult times, many of us overlook our personal needs, which can make things feel worse. Pack pamper items in their package to encourage them to practice self-care, such as bath products, moisturiser, a good book, a happy film, or fake flowers to brighten up their home.

Make New Memories

Although they may not feel like it, leaving the house can really help. Encourage them by sending a gift voucher for their favourite coffee shop, include a pen and a journal for writing down new memories, a disposable camera for capturing new memories, and inspirational quotes to motivate.

There you have it, the ultimate care package contents. Make sure to wrap carefully before shipping securely with Parcel2Go, so that it arrives safe and sound.
