It’s Not Over (Paths to Love #1) by Grahame Claire

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Vivian refuses to live up to her parents’ expectations. She doesn’t want to stay in Texas and get married to the man that they say she should. Moving to New York for a job at an accountancy company she is making her own way in life – even if she hasn’t got much money left over to eat. Whilst attending a charity function she donates what little money she has left in her purse. Something that doesn’t go unnoticed by Daniel.

Daniel is the strong, broody type, never letting his emotions show or revealing his past. That was until he met Vivian, there is something about her that captivates her. But she isn’t going to be putty in his hands or another notch on his bedpost. If he wants her, he is going to have to prove it to her.

Journeying back and forth between the present when Daniel tells Vivian that it is all over and eight years ago when they first met and fell in love. Discovering secrets from their past and attempting to keep things at arm’s length to protect her. But Vivian isn’t going anywhere – It’s not over!

Three Dates (Paths To Love #2) by Grahame Claire

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Muriella doesn’t date, with a past that she doesn’t like to talk about she is happy to keep the world at arm’s length. Apart from her chosen family of Daniel and Vivian, the only two people that she can bear to be touched by. However, six years ago Stone Jacobs was introduced into her life by Daniel. There is something about him that makes her nervous and it’s unlike any other feeling she has had before. But can she really let him into her life?

Fourth of July changed Stone’s life, that was the day he met Muriella for the first time and suddenly his heart never felt the same. Sensing that she had been hurt in the past he knew he’d have to take things slowly, even Daniel warned him not to get involved or hurt her. However, there is a pull to her that he just can’t give up. Six years later and he is still attempting to breakdown those barriers.

Agreeing to three dates with him to help out her friend’s reunion, Muriella isn’t sure she has done the right thing. It soon becomes apparent that they each have their own demons to overcome, and surely it is better to face them together than apart?

Heartbreaker (Paths To Love #3) by Grahame Claire

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Mulaney has been working for the Carters since she left grad school, working her way to being interim CEO. She has known the Carter family almost all her life, with Easton Carter a constant in her life for so long. They’ve always been a team, had each other back etc. Until seven months ago when things changed between them.

With Mr Carter Sr suddenly selling Carters Energy, Mulaney along with Easton and his brother Drew are left shocked as to why he has done this – especially without telling them that he was doing it. A move from Houston to New York is now on the table for the next 12 months. But before all that, they have to head home for Christmas to see their respective families.

Can they discover why the company was sold so quickly? What happened between them to have changed their relationship? Can they overcome all the hurdles in their way? The third instalment in the series, but could be enjoyed as a standalone (although you won’t have the background details for the other characters).

Available to buy from Amazon in Paperback and Kindle Edition.

Usually I would love to finish an entire series of books, however, the characters that are included within book 4 and 5 don’t capture my interest. I’m possibly writing them off too early and should give them the benefit of the doubt, so I might opt to come back and find out more about their backstory and romance.
