Vorwerk Kobold VK200 customising your cleaning experience

January 11, 2018

It is 16 years since I left home and moved in Mr. Boo. In that time we have lived in three different properties, got married and had three children. We have also had at least five vacuum cleaners – five! How is that even possible in that amount of time? One of them was a cute ladybird style vacuum that lasted all of a few months before giving up. And that was cleaning a small (but perfectly formed) one bedroom flat. I’m obviously picking the wrong vacuums as they never seem to last and it’s not as though I’m a clean freak and have it on the go every five minutes.

A couple of months ago Vorwerk contacted me to see whether I’d like to put the Kobold VK200 Cleaning System to the test. Stating that I would find vacuuming easier, enjoyable and most importantly I’d notice how much cleaner my carpets were. With three children in the house (especially the muck monkey also known as Piglet) I need all the help I can get with cleaning especially vacuuming. Piglet spends a large portion of the day playing on the floors around out the house so I want them to be as clean as possible.

**Spoiler Alert – I love this cleaning system, far more than a grown woman should admit to but seriously my house has never been cleaner!**

Vorwerk Kobold VK200 Cleaning System

Cleaning and Vorwerk

Compact, highly manoeuvrable and extremely powerful, the Kobold VK200 Upright Vacuum Cleaner is the ideal addition to your household, making life easier and cleaner.

Vorwerk Kobold VK200 // Features

Automatic floor detection – Gone are the days where we had the same style of carpet running through the entire house (including the kitchen and bathroom – yuck!). Nowadays we have tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms, possibly wooden floors in the hallway and high traffic areas. Then add in the carpets in the bedrooms and the plush rug in the middle of your living room. Trying to vacuum all these different areas could mean that you are needing to switch between settings. Not on the VK200 Cleaning System – Ultrasonic Sensors detect all floor conditions and automatically adjusts right performance power to the floor setting. Whether it’s hard floors or carpets.

Telescopic handle – One size fits all when it comes to vacuums – right? Wrong! Just like anything in life we don’t all fit into one category, so why should we have to put up with designs that are dated and not suitable for everyone? The telescopic handle on the VK200 Cleaning System allows you to easily (and that is the key thing) raise or lower the handle depending on who is completing the cleaning, or for which cleaning task you are completing.

Lightweight and manoeuvrable – Part of the hassle of vacuuming is attempting to manoeuvre it around your home and furniture. The Kobold is a lightweight solution, without having to sacrifice on suction power or dirt collection capacity. The swivel and twist head makes it easy to get in between furniture, underneath sofas and sideboards. Coupled with the telescopic handle it allows you to complete your cleaning task with a back-friendly posture.

Backward compatible – This is quite possibly one of the biggest selling features for Vorwerk. Their vacuums are designed to last you 20+ years (no more replacing them every few years) and in that time they will, of course, bring out new accessories and heads. Does this mean that you have to purchase a new vacuum? No. They understand that your Kobold is still in fully working order so have designed their accessories etc to be backward compatible with their older models.

Alongside these key features, there is still a whole host of things I haven’t mentioned…

  • Built-in air freshener – that’s right it makes your room smell beautiful as you vacuum
  • Filter bag LED display – The Kobold VK200 uses bags to contain all the dust etc collected, allowing for 99% of allergy-inducing particles to be captured. The display on the main body of the vacuum indicates when the bag is starting to fill up and when you need to replace with a new one.

Vorwerk Kobold VK200 // Customise your cleaning experience

We’ve all been there where we have purchased a new vacuum and it comes with 101 attachments that you’ll probably never use. Either because you have no use for them within your cleaning schedule or they are just fit for purpose. Those clever people over at Vorwerk realise this and have designed the Kobold VK200 to complete the bulk of household vacuuming requirements. With the option to purchase extras that you tailor to match your cleaning needs.

With many comprehensive attachment options, the Kobold VK200 Upright Vacuum Cleaner can be converted into a complete and uniquely versatile cleaning system. It is specifically designed to meet every cleaning expectation and offers the right accessories for every possible need. Changing attachments is effortless and can be managed without bending down, all at the push of a button.

Kobold SP530 DuoClean – simultaneously mops and vacuums hard floors at the same time, cutting in half the time you spend cleaning hard floors such as parquet, laminate, tiles, and stone.

Kobold PB440 Electric Upholstery Brush – Upholstered furniture is great, but it requires the right kind of cleaning to keep it looking great. The Kobold PB440 Electric Upholstery Brush is just the ticket, providing a thorough but gentle clean that preserves the delicate fabric.

Kobold VF200 Carpet Freshener – a dry cleaning vacuum head used in conjunction with Kobosan ensure that your carpets and rugs stay beautiful for longer with impressive and hygienic in-depth cleaning.

Hoses and nozzles – A full range of hoses, nozzles, and brushes, all available to purchase individually or as a set depending on your needs.

Vorwerk Kobold VK200 // What does it cost?

The Vorwerk Kobold VK200 with the EB400 automatic floor detention vacuum head costs £749. The additional vacuum heads and accessories are available separately – and worth noting that these are a set price, if you don’t buy something at the point of sale and opt to get it at a later date it is the same price. It doesn’t suddenly shoot up in price.
